We love having brunch here or coffee(personal preference) I'm coffee lover. Indoor is nice but I love the seatings outside when weather is nice. Food is good and staffs are very nice. Food comes out fast. I love their coffee cups with simple castle design.
I came to see Ripley Castle with my elderly mother (I went for the tour as my mother couldn't do it) and stopped for something to eat. Had a nice lunch (Scampi and Chips) and was served by very friendly staff! Recommend!
Stopped on the way over to the Whitby area for a weekend away. Lovely traditional tea rooms in the grounds of a wonderful Castle. It was full/busy when we arrived. We managed to get a table. The staff are excellent here, so friendly and at the end, the man let us have free entry to the castle grounds and gardens because we purchased a coffee and soft drink (when the actual deal is take-a-way hot drinks) with our lunch. Food was lovely; my Wife ordered a Bacon and Brie Panini and I got a toasted cheese scone with chutney and farmhouse pate served with two huge slices of toasted sourdough and salad.
Please ignore opening times! I've tried to.change them but it won't allow.....they don't open till 10AM every day. Cafe opposite opens at 9am and has WiFi!
Lovely Christmas eve lunchtime stop, dogs made very welcome too. Everyone enjoying a drink & food. Smashing. Thanx all.
Even with restrictions a lovely place to visit. Got tea and coffee with these hot pulled pork pies (you will never want to go back to a growler after these) for about £10. Good value, tasty and friendly. Only downside popular and understandably at the moment nowhere to sit.
A lovely tea room. They were just about to close but took pity on us as we had been stuck in snow all afternoon. The coffee and carrot cake were delicious. Thankyou for being so kind and welcoming
The best staff, the best atmosphere, the best food! And they love my doggy too! All made very welcome, treats & water for dogs, even doggy ice cream. ( dogs allowed in the first room of the cafe, not the second room).
Plenty of seating outside all year round, if you prefer to sit outside. Location is in the castle courtyard, pretty unique sat amongst such beautiful surroundings.
Try the platter, it's truly a feast beyond most top rated places. Everything is gorgeous! And if you love coffee, it's specially brewed there and taste fab! Not too pricey for what you get and the quality is 2nd to none.
I was going to treat my dog to an ice cream....and the waitress told me they have doggy ice cream too! Well worth a visit, highly recommended. Staff go out of their way to make sure your visit is the best.
As of this morning (20 June) they were serving from the front door and window. Order at the door, pick up at the window. I had a nice coffee. Others ordered ice creams (which look very nice!) and toasted sandwiches. There was enough room to sit on benches around the place for those there.
Handily it opens before the village center ice cream shop does.
Had a lovely time. This has expanded from last time I was here. Had the platter my partner had the chicken and bacon salad. Pot of tea and coffee. Very reasonably priced and glad we decided to eat rather than just a drink as intended. Will be back again.
Whilst we're in lockdown this tea room has made a very flexible change with efficient counter service out of doors for take away only. Although the range is a bit limited as a result it's still tasty and varied - well done at adapting.
When we first discovered this tea room a few years ago we thought it was by far the best we had come across locally and always considered going along to be a treat.
It's still very good, but recently we've found their previously high standards falling away at busier times: dirty tables, overlooking additional requests once sat at a table, and not asking if everything was okay when paying the bill.
Small things perhaps, but it's the small things that mean it only gets 4 stars instead of 5.
Very pleasant environment with seating inside and outside. Good range of coffees, teas with other drinks available.
Good range of quality food from snacks to meals. Toilets available and is located across from the Ripley Castle gift shop.
Large free car park just on the edge of the village a couple of minutes walk away.
The castle has some parking in the Castle grounds near the Tea Shop.
We'll worth a visit if nearby.
Lovely friendly staff, nice food
Lovely place to have a welcomed rest and drink after walking the bridlepath to Ripley. Dogs welcome in one side of the cafe and plenty of seating outside. Prices very reasonable and table service us fantastic. Fiood delicious. Highly recommended.
Lovely location. Nice to sit outside if the weather is good enough. I usually just get a coffee as I'm usually here when cycling. Lunch/sandwiches look a bit pricey
Nice place for a catch up. Dog friendly. Friendly staff clean with outside seating too. Good food and coffee!!
