A lovely traditional pub. We were surprised food not cooked all day but had cracking ploughman's. Not the cheapest but exceptional quality ingredients and good portion sizes so worth the money. Friendly service and clean facilities. Consistently good every time we come. Added bonus is that it's dog friendly so ideal for s visit after taking your dog out for a walk in the stunning New Forest. Highly recommend.
Have seen this place every year for the last three years but never had the opportunity to visit. On our way home tonight we took a chance 3 adults and 3 children. Starters were prawn cocktail, pate and cheesy garlic bread. All arrived hot and nicely presented. Main course we had chilli and fish and chips and scampi. Again all presented nicely and tasted lovely.
The tables were cleaned for us when we sat down. All in all very worth while the visit and reasonable charges.
Lovely meal tonight for my birthday with my family & dog. Friendly & helpful staff. The chef even made me a vegan burger (not on the menu). I don’t usually feel like leaving a review but feel they really went out of their way tonight. Many thanks to The Red Shoot �

Had Christmas Day lunch here yesterday with family and it was lovely. Tables nicely spaced out, no rush in between courses and food was hit. The staff were very nice and polite, first Christmas lunch out and would definitely do it again. Well done to all the staff �
On holiday from Cornwall and I must say OUTSTANDING. Absolutely loved it. Perfect halfway stop on a 20 mile bike ride. Will deffo visit again. Loved the local beer and brewed on site and HUGE portion food. Probably the best pub I've been too.
Great place to cycle over to for a beer. Lovely surroundings and great beer and big enough to cater for a lot of visitors so it doesn't feel too crammed even on a glorious sunny day. The fact that it has its own microbrewery is brilliant and their beer is excellent. The roads across the New Forest heaths to get to it are a joy to cycle.
Wonderful place with fantastic food and friendly staff. will definitely be back.
We stopped the Sunday before on the way back from a walk for a drink. The food looked so good, we went back the following Sunday for lunch after a walk. We had not booked a table but there was one available. Able to take the dog in which is a bonus. Helpful and lovley staff. Yummie roast beef.
We will be back.

A lunch visit with friends, lovely pub, surprising big with lots of seating and dog friendly inside.
The food was good and the service at the bar was very good, considering how busy they were. All the staff were friendly and eager to help.
Car park was full but the car park just a few hundred metres away has a space. Highly recommend if you’re wanting a new forest pub lunch and nice walk.
Had a lovely meal at the Red Shoot today with friends and family.
We went for our friend's birthday and the staff happily decorate the table for us with balloons etc that we dropped off the day before.
Everyone was very happy with their choice of food.
I highly recommend the pie. It was perfectly cooked and full of meat!!
Outside you can chose to sit out with the horses or inside the fence so they can't come right up to you.
5* will be recommending to everyone and plan to try out the camp site next!!
We had a lovely visit to Red Shoot. The staff were friendly, the food was delicious and our dog especially loved the treats he was given. We will definitely be back soon!

Really lovely staff, very friendly and quick. Was very busy so took a while to be served and seated. Enjoyed our Sunday roasts and it came out sooner than they had expected as there was a slight wait on food. Also very dog friendly which was perfect for us after a long dog walk. Will come back again!
Bang in the middle of the New Forest is this lovely pub run by a couple who also manage the static caravan park next door where we were guests for the weekend. We went for a late Sunday lunch after a long walk in the forest. I ordered the beer battered fish & chips and some mushy peas on the side. It was delicious! Happy to recommend this pub.
Really lovely pub/restaurant. Hiden away in the new forest but well sign posted from the main road. Ample parking, good outside seating area. Not a huge menu but good tasting food. Very reasonable pricing. Lovely staff, definitely worth a visit.

Stopped in for some food before a walk, really friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Amazing food and a really good selection of drinks. A nice open fireplace keeping up the homely, country pub vibe. Definitely coming back!

First time visiting for years and what a treat! Whole family loves their lunches. The Henry burger was the best burger I’ve ever had (and that is saying something!). The staff were lovely and the place was spotless. We will be back. Thank you Red Shoot crew!
Excellent pub food.. The chips are amazing.... Lovely friendly staff and loads of horses, donkeys and cows frequent the outside seating area... Definitely recommend coming to this pub.
Really nice roast for a large group of us. Friendly service, food came out quickly. Staff gave us a lot of confidence that they understood and took my son’s food allergies seriously.
Easy online booking system, friendly efficient staff and excellent food. What’s not to love! Genuinely nothing negative to report. We went for Father’s Day and all had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. Just to add that we noticed all the staff were well trained and polite which is very refreshing to see these days. We also noticed a restaurant manager who was very attentive and clearly runs a tight ship. Would definitely recommend and we will be back!
With a beautiful open crackling fire I recommend the Red Shoot for a lovely country lunch. Hunters chicken, steak, sandwich options and lovely beer we had a great afternoon lunch. Part of the Wadsworth chain this pub has really friendly staff and is fantastically dog friendly, a bowl of water laid out for the doggos by the fire so they can drink and snooze while you eat.
Had lovely lunch here on trip to New Forest - our first visit to the Red Shoot since the pandemic. It was as good as ever. A welcoming atmosphere, good foot and very helpful and friendly staff.
