I had an amazing time here. The food was absolutely divine! So much bold unique flavour in every dish. Truly a must visit in London! I recommend the venison biryani and scallops ravaya. It’s not surprising they’re recognised on the Michelin Guide.
Absolutely brilliant all round 👏 Loved the selection of poppadoms with the mint yoghurt followed by the onion bhaji, very well presented, and good size portion, too. I can recommend the lamb shanks main course, cooked perfectly in a tasty sauce. It's not the cheapest but probably the best. I am looking forward to returning again very soon.
Last night - 10/10/2023 - Tuesday. We gave family dinner to this Chatora restaurant. The food was sumptuous. Services were excellent. The embient in the restaurant were peaceful, quiet and relaxing for us to enjoy our family dinner with a birthday celebration. Thank you to ALL the servers and the chefs for their amazing services. Highly recommended, especially the Venison Briyani. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I recently dined at Chatora, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Nestled in the heart of Richmond, the restaurant has managed to seamlessly integrate traditional Indian flavors with innovative culinary techniques. The end result is a menu that celebrates the diversity and richness of India's vast culinary heritage.
The talents of Head Chef Sunil D'Souza are evident in each dish, with every bite telling a story of India's various regions—from the robust flavors of the North to the nuanced spices of the South, and the coastal influences of the East and West. The quality of the ingredients, especially the locally-sourced British seasonal produce, elevates the dining experience to new heights.
Among the standout dishes were the vegetarian options and the tandoor specialities. Seafood and game are also represented, offering a comprehensive array of choices for every palate.
I would highly recommend Chatora for anyone seeking to explore the boundaries of Indian cuisine while enjoying an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere. It's a gastronomic journey that shouldn't be missed. Five stars all the way.
I had lamb ghost and garlic nan, it was really good also I had dessert and forgot the name but it was really good, highly recommend this place. The only downside I see is there was no music it was just people talking a bit loud I would say. All in all, good service and good food!
What a pleasant experience 👌
After late night shopping 🛍️ with my best friend, I mean my hubby took me to chatora restaurant .
Absolutely fantastic evening meal, with first class service from chatora restaurant .We opted for the malai chicken and lamb shish kabab from menu, which we found to be delicious, authentic Indian cuisine. Dum biryani was spot on . Restaurant owner personally come and greet us . Well we had complimentary foods too . The service was spot on, with enough attention without being overbearing. Well done team of chatora
Will come back with kids soon 🩷
Possibly the best Indian restaurant I ever been! Food was absolutely delicious, tasty and not overpriced, served in generous portions. The service has been impeccable and our table has always been taken care of. I’m just sad because we were too full to try a dessert, but maybe next time 😊
Thank you for the great experience!
Highly recommend!
Exceptional food and service, second time I've been here now and they really have set their standards high. Lamb dishes melt in your mouth, every dish is consistent and delicious! So happy to have found Chatora!
Been here a few times and the highlight for me is always the food. It's rare to find very authentic (largely unmodified) flavours - which chatora delivers - with just a tiny bit of modernization. I think they serve the best lamb seekh kababs I've eaten in London. An average place will serve seekh kebabs that are too springy whereas Chef Sunil nails them - delicate and crumbly at the gentlest bite but held together just enough. I also enjoyed the chicken biryani and black Daal. The food is a tad bit on the spicier side than average Indian places but I love the fact that the food is carefully prepared without too much oil. They also generously served us a celebration plate with cake for the special occasion we went for. Well done Chatora for maintaining your food quality. Would love to try the Pahari chicken at the next visit
Top, top, top dining experience.
For any lamb lovers out there.. all lamb dishes were PERFECT. The chops were truly exceptional.
I ordered a variety of starters, all of which were delicious. The quail keema naan was very simple but executed to perfection.
All in all the flavours in the food were on point. It's not a typical Indian restaurant where the food is loaded with loads of spices and masala. In my opinion this was on the mild and subtle side which makes it very versatile for people of different palettes.
It's an experience I highly recommend.
One of the best restaurants around london. Amazing ambience and the service was top notch. The food was authentic and freshly made. There is a bit of wait when you place the order but its only due to each order is made freshly and cooked to the perfection. I recommend to book the table in advance. Lamb shank is a must try its just melts in your mouth and i would rate it top in whole UK, the biryani is one of the best cooked in traditional way. All the dishes are flawless. Gold star for food and service. 10/10.
Best restaurants I've ever been . FOOD was amazing , SERVICE was top class highly professionally by BONNEY .
Found this place on Google Maps during an impromptu Friday evening in Richmond. A more upmarket venue than your typical curry house, it was really busy when the four of us turned up without a reservation at 8pm. Thankfully they managed to find us a table and we had an excellent meal. The menu offers a relatively small number of dishes, but everything we had was delicious, good sized portions, which were well spiced and of high quality. The lamb shank was especially tender and tasty. Owner and our servers were friendly and welcoming. Will be back for sure 😊
Chatora lived up to the expectations in terms of reservation confirmation, welcoming and quality of the food served. It was a ladies night and was perfect to indulge into a very authentic Indian fusion cuisine served at Chatora on a chilly night we have been. I tried many fine dinning Indian restaurants but this is a show stopper when it comes to homemade sauces for popoddum dips, and varieties they have to choose. I would highly recommend and will visit soon again!
Chatora exceeded my expectations! The food and the experience was amazing.
The lamp-chops was special, so tender and crispy at the same time. And fabulous Chicken tikka Masala and seafood pilau. Thank you for the lovely food.
Spent some lovely time here. Nice ambience, the food was delicious and was served quickly.
Well what a find! The restaurant made excellent use of space on three levels plus a small terrace. The staff were very helpful in advising about the background and origins of the recipes. They couldn't have been more helpful in ensuring that we made the best choices. Our party of 5 were all delighted with the food and we would highly recommend this restaurant. The lamb chops for starters were the best I have ever eaten. They were meaty and juicy and the meat literally just melted as you bit into it. The lobster was fabulous, though a little small, in the most amazing creamy sauce. Thank you for looking after us, we will visit when we are next in Richmond.
Food absolutely amazing, very enjoyable meal. Slightly marred by the very inexperienced front of house hostess, please don’t put such novices in a key position, train them up elsewhere. However our waitress and the manager couldn’t do enough for us and overall we had an excellent evening.
