Ate in here tonight, the food is without any doubt 5 star as is the service. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. It was very busy but they didn't forget you, keeping you informed that your table won't be long, giving you menus, sorting drinks and taking your order. Very efficient. All in all a little gem of a pub and I would highly recommend it.

I’ve eaten here on various occasions over the last 12 years.. I’ve never had a bad meal ever.. my favourite place to eat .. I’m not a big chip fan but omg the chips are amazing ..
We visited today for Sunday lunch and opted to have the lamb. The food was absolutely first class with a fabulous array of vegetables & potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and gorgeous gravy. Service was excellent with polite and attentive staff! We also had a dessert which was homemade and divine. We have booked tomorrow as it’s steak night!
This is an amazing country pub the food is fabulous and the owner and staff are very friendly and make a complete package as you can take your dog for a meal or drinks in the bar area.

Just had an absolutely gorgeous Sunday lunch here. Lovely atmosphere, fantastic food, very good service at a very reasonable price. One word of warning - book before you go... we didn't and were very lucky that they kindly squeezed us in. Thank you very much. We will be back xxx

I love the place, beautiful building. I had dinner once. Food ok but unlucky to me on that day bcoz long time waited about cook meal, almost hour for 2 dishes. Anyway large car parking.
Absolutely superb food. All cooked to order. May have to wait a while but certainly worth it. We ordered from the "early bird" menu. Lots of choice. We ordered the peanut chicken- was divine. Good portion size. Staff were attentive but not "in your face." Shame it's not my local.

Fabulous food, lovely atmosphere. We went on the recommendations of Parmos but they didnt have them on the menu. Staff were happy to help and cooked one for us. Great value for meal.
Great service with great food. The waiter and waitress that served us was very polite and prompt. They had a separate vegetarian menu which was filled with choices for us all and Bella our dog enjoyed sitting next to the lovely Giraffes 🦒 All in all a lovely night thanks to my boss for treating us all
The place is bigger than you think,and quite a selection on lunch time menu. Prices were very good. Couldn't fault our meals really nice. We will be back

White staying at the Hillcrest, we popped out to this pub and glad we did,Great food well priced well worth booking if there are more than two, we were lucky too get a table on both days we went, seems very popular, however you will soon see why when you try the food, dog friendly which is a must these days , also honest staff who picked our phones when left them & kept them safe for us , many thanks

On our way home to leeds and passed this little gem of a place.
The food was stunning, home made pub grub and the place was a very nice traditional setting.
They also kept the log fire burning.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
We will try our best to come back here, but is a fair drive for us.
We will still be back one day.
Could not fault this place, one bit. 5 star plus.

Party of 4 dropped in for lunch. Excellent, varied menu. Friendly staff (of one) nice surroundings with welcoming feel. Food did not disappoint and at remarkably low price when compared to others. Well worth the 5 stars.
