This was a really nice experience, the location was fab, really central and a proper sun trap. Staff were lovely and friendly. The food was a little slow, I think we waited about an hour but they did have a big function on. I also asked for my roast to come with extra meat rather than yorkshires and potatoes and I got so much delicious tender quality meat! So I was really happy and impressed with that. Both the food and drinks menu was really apprehensive too, a little pricey but worth it for the location I’d say. I would absolutely go again!
This review is exclusively for the restaurant at the Kings Head Hotel.
We reserved a table for a Sunday lunch as we brought our two dogs along. Even though we were half an hour early, it was absolutely no problem.
The staff was always very friendly. The food was fantastic and very tasty, definitely worth recommending the restaurant.
Be sure to make a reservation in advance!
This is an lovely old Georgian hotel. No lift because of the age of the place but on the plus side the stairs are wide and shallow so even an ageing crone like me could manage them, plus every landing had convenient chairs to sit and recover on.
Our room was at the front of the hotel (nice view) and the hotel exterior light illuminated our room all night. Not a major issue for us and to be fair we did have the curtains open a bit, but if you are light sensitive you may want to bring an eye mask or, y'know, pull the curtains!.
Bathroom toiletries are awesome and available for purchase.
Breakfast was more than adequate and there was plenty of it. It's from a menu rather than a buffet so all the food is fresh and hot.
The staff are very nice and friendly.
We really enjoyed our stay.
We booked an afternoon tea and wow! Delicious food .. Best scone in 1000 miles! Staff are really attentive and so polite! Would definitely come back!
Fabulous three nights. The staff were absolutely superb and we were made very welcome. Nothing too much trouble and our Schnauzer Sam was so well looked after. We’d love to come back. Definitely recommend for a stay.
We recently had our Autumn Dinner at The Kings Head. We had 87 attending and it was faultless. Louise, Jamie, Sophie and the whole team were amazing. No detail was left unchecked. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left we felt in safe hands and that the evening was going to be a great success. The food was superb, the service, outstanding, the room we stayed in was immaculate and a lovely breakfast also. I would highly recommend having any function. The flag ship hotel of the Town.
A lovely hotel with the most hard working & enthusiastic staff & manager I have seen in a long time
Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay
We will be back
We called in for Sunday lunch yesterday whilst visiting the town for a few days. The food was OK nothing special for fine however, the restaurant staff (lady and two chaps) were a credit to their employer very helpful and polite... Even had a chat with one about my beloved Lincoln City :-)
I went on a couple of occasions - had very tasty food in the restaurant and enjoyed a very comfortable bar/lounge area for drinks. I didn't stay myself my a friend did and said her room was very comfortable and that she enjoyed her stay.
We had several lovely hot drinks, 4 or 5 each..
Service couldn't be faulted.
Toilets lovely and clean.
Easy reach of all the local shops and attractions.
Great pub to pop into for a nice pint on a cold winters day. Staff are super helpful and friendly. Decor is warm and cozy pub style.
What can I say about this hotel...absolutely perfect! We stayed in a dog friendly deluxe double room which didn't disappoint, the room was lovely and the dog bowl, ball and treats was a lovely touch. The staff were great, the food excellent (especially breakfast - great quality ingredients). We had a great night's sleep and would highly recommend. One important thing to note is the parking, we paid extra for private parking however we feel it was well worth it as parking outside the hotel is limited! Will definitely be back and already looking forward to it!!
Just wonderful! Lovely hotel with sumptuous rooms, with options for upgrading rooms with champagne and classic radio playing on arrival with extra nice shampoo etc in the ensuite which we loved.
The location is right in the middle of the high street a great option for a cheeky weekend away
Stayed here numerous times and we love the hotel and location. Plenty of walks, eating places and pubs. Food can be a bit hit and miss.
