1 night into a 3 night stay at The Coach House. If you want to relax and de-stress this is the place to come. Surrounded by lovely countryside and a beautiful room (The Hayloft). They get the little touches right such as classical music greeting you via a DAB Radio, the luxurious toiletries in the room and full Sky TV access. The fixtures and fittings throughout the Coach House are lovely and demonstrates the attention to detail and expense they have gone to in order to make this place a joy to visit. Evening meal was lovely in the Coach House restaurant as was our breakfast. An old fashioned open cart which housed pastries and juices was another demonstration of getting the little touches right. The staff are all attentive and helpful and professional. Thank you for a wonderful stay so far. Highly recommend this wonderful place.
We had a small intimate wedding on Thursday at Middleton lodge and we couldn’t of asked for anything better! The venue was stunning, our room was out of this world and the food was utterly amazing!!!
We can’t wait to bring our parents for afternoon tea and relive it all again!!
Thank you so much to all the amazing staff who were brilliant even with a twisty 16month old and 3 year old!!
Can’t recommend you enough.

All the staff are amazing, there is nothing they won't do to make your stay perfect. They all went above and beyond for us. Wish we could do it all over again. We would definitely recommend this venue to anyone who wants the perfect wedding. All the guests mentioned how lovely the staff were and how fantastic the food was. Thank you soooo much to everyone at Middleton lodge!
We stayed at The Coach House for our wedding anniversary and everything was perfect. It is such a beautiful, relaxing place and the customer service was excellent throughout the whole stay. The wine and food was superb and the room was stylish, super clean and had everything we needed. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here for a short break away!
We had a family meal there last night for my birthday and it was excellent. The food was lovely and the staff were very attentive. I have an allergy to dairy and nothing was too much trouble. Would definetely visit again
Champagne afternoon tea with two fabulous friends. Beautiful surroundings, great, friendly service, lovely food (and champagne)! No complaints other than we had to go home at some point!
We've booked the Main House for our wedding in January 2019 so we decided to try it out for Sunday lunch and we weren't disappointed. The staff are so attentive and the food was delicious. Following our first meeting with our wedding coordinator we are so excited to be getting married here. They can't do enough for you and we know it's going to be so special.
Such a lovely and very much needed stay in one of the garden rooms. Ate dinner in the restaurant. Everything simply stunning from room, staff, food to grounds. Will definitely return!
Stayed in the Tack Room. Amazing bathroom, Comfy bed, Log burner too. Decor throughout The Coach House is beautiful. Delicious food in restaurant, extensive drinks list including a wide range of gin and cocktails. Lovely staff.
Absolutely beautiful food in amazing settings. Would definitely recommend
Fantastic place beautiful location the staff & food are great especially the lady on reception. Highly recommended. We stayed Saturday night with a group of friends and we loved the bike ride round the estate grounds.
Absolutely fantastic stay. We stayed in the loft..room 6..jn the farmhouse. So modern yet its kept it's unique features. Bed was amazing..I didn't want to get up! Loved the swing chair! Breakfast was also lovely. Easily 5 stars.
A magical Georgian Country Estate which I highly recommend
I would echo a few of the other reviews on here in that the food is amazing, but the service is odd. Had booked prior and was shown to a lovely table and they took a drinks order , but that seemed to take a long time after ordering. Lack of staff available I think . Took a long time to order food also. Lots of different staff serving us also. I would sit everyone less spread out also and maybe sit us a bit nearer if a quiet day. It almost feels like you just get forgotten about .
Had both brunch and a roast here, was excellent. We sat outdoors under the tent, it was a lovely venue with exquisite grounds.
For brunch we had BLT on brioche, Scotch pancakes with two lattes. Both were really tasty and good sized portions.
We both ordered the beef roast with all the trimmings, it did not disappoint
Lovely place, with lots going on (wedding in another building, other dining rooms, drinks outside). Food was lovely, service was polite and friendly but something was going wrong between ordering drinks and receiving them. Half an hour before 1st drinks arrived, so no charge. Then ran out of the beer I was drinking (black sheep ipa , although the receipt says Estrella) and my wife's drink when asked if she would like sparkling or flat cherry blossom cordial , chose sparkling but received flat.
We would still go though, mistakes happen.
First time visitor.
The food , service and atmosphere were impeccable.
The staff were friendly, polite and knowledgeable.
I will definately visit again
We have visited twice, now. Once outside under the canvas canopy, with twinkling lights, blankets and heaters, and most recently in the beautiful restaurant.
Each time the food was superb. It was inventive, tasty, beautifully presented, and all served with friendly efficient service.
It’s not cheap, but perfect for a special occasion. We will definitely return. The whole estate and gardens are immaculate too.
We spent roughly £40 a head for three people, including a starter, main course and drinks. We first discovered Middleton Lodge after having Sunday lunch highly recommended. We have yet to try that!
Came for an impromptu lunch whilst travelling. Very impressive scenery and grounds, immaculate venue and polite and welcoming staff. Service was speedy, but not rushed. Meal was excellent with attention to detail that elevated the dish. Very impressed and would recommend to anyone who is in the area.
Booked a table here tonight, not been before but omg what a meal, it was all beautiful, crab starter, steak for mains which absolutely delicious, haven't tasted one that nice for a long time and dessert didn't disappoint either, all I all a wonderful evening with gorgeous food and staff and service was impeccable. Not the cheapest of meals but you get what you pay for and we certainly did, would definately go again. Wee sat outside but under cover, scenery was beautiful, relaxing and comfortable, very nice for a special occasion. ❤️
Had a nice meal here on a Monday night, quiet and quick service. The menu has a couple of vegan options and they are happy to make alterations for you. Would be nice for a few more clearer vegan items however everything was really well prepared, flavours great and presented well. Nothing was too overly priced and the have a great drinks selection.
Middleton Lodge is so welcoming wherever you are on the estate. Not many establishments have continued to invest throughout 2020/21 yet the owners have shown that bravery pays off. Staff like Emma and Sarah to name just 2 of many have a lovely skill in making any visitor feel welcome..The place is stunning. Good food.
Love the menu at The Coach House. You can always find something different and exciting.
They use only high quality, fresh ingredients to great their beautiful and delicious meals.
Service is great and the atmosphere is fabulous.
Can't wait to go there again.
Having dined here a couple of times before, we decided to stay over this time. Our room was in the "Farm House" which has 5 bedrooms, and a kitchen/living area downstairs which would be great to rent for larger parties. Like the rest of the entire estate, the room, and the Farm House as a whole was very clean and stylishly decorated. As usual the food, drink and service at both dinner and breakfast were impeccable and we were well looked after. The restaurant and bar are nice and spacious which makes for a very relaxed atmosphere.
Amazing venue, superb ambience (we loved being outside in the dark under canvas lit by candlelight), delicious food and very friendly and helpful service. It was our first visit but will not be our last. Highly recommended.
Amazing 👏 the food was outstanding. I had crab salad to start and oh my it was so tasty . Rib eye to follow was melt in the mouth. The staff were attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was cosy. The whole experience was first class !! Will definitely be going back 😀
We ate here for both lunch and breakfast. Good menu with lots of choices. We sat outside on a sunny day which made the experience better. Service and food was really good. Would defiantly visit again.
Such a lovely cozy hotel with beautiful grounds. Food was fancy enough to feel like a treat but not fussy (not a foam in sight thank goodness) and super tasty and especially loved the walled kitchen garden. Second visit and will return.
Good service and super food had the Coach Houses Restaurant. A table of seven allowed for plenty of sharing and tasting of what was in offer and none disappointed. From the lovely smoked almonds to the goats cheese with just a hint of truffle on the outer skin. Scrummy! Dont feel you have to dress up either. The ambience and surroundings would suggest a more formal dinner attire would be required but none of that. Casual, smart is more than accepted and to be honest makes you feel more comfortable anyway. You can stay but alas not today for me. Just a very scrumptious meal. Highly recommend.
A little note on why only 4 stars... All I would say is make sure you ask the price of something first! A little sour note left at what was a very enjoyable evening.
Lucky enough to visit twice in 7 days.
Both visits were perfection. I honestly good not pick fault with anything. A special place for that special evening.
