Very generous food servings. Delicious hearty meals and friendly service. A cosy pub ideal for a warm pub meal on a cold day.

Since moving to Richmond, the Red Cow has become a local haunt for my partner and I, it being about a 40 second walk from our new home. I've known about it's existence for a while, as a place to drive past on the way to somewhere else. Now, having had the chance to experience the pub, I'm not entirely sure it won't remain as such.

The 200 year old Red Cow has some great things going for it, to be sure. The food, for starters, is great. Their pizzas are exemplary, and great to have with a few friends as conversation flows between you in the quiet, relaxed environment. Service is excellent, with the bar staff being friendly and inviting in character, skilled and efficient in skill. As someone attempting to give up smoking with the use of an electronic cigarette, the fact that they permit me to use the device inside was a wonderful treat, as more and more establishments ban such things on appearance. The advantage of an small but serviceable outside seating area doesn't go unnoticed, either. However, the fact that it is on a paved section at the junction of two roads is less than desirable.

Which leads to the problem, a problem which leads me to deduct a hefty amount of points: the location. This is no fault of the owners, but falls victim to the 'genius' of 18th Century road planning. With roads running either side of the pub, finding parking is a futile endeavour. The closest spots would be on Dunstable Road, of which there are 2 bays, charging 25p for 6 minutes of parking. The area as a whole is more or less exclusively residents parking only (A1 and A2 permits). Richmond station is about a 5 minute walk, but as with Albert's Deli, it is the opposite direction to the rest of Richmond. Thus, the Red Cow suffers the unfair situation of never really being able to be a destination for people outside of the immediate areas.

In conclusion, the Red Cow is a lovely, warm, comfortable pub with great service, good drinks and excellent food. For locals to the area, it's well worth avoiding the hustle and bustle of Richmond proper, and paying a little visit. And if you can't find it? Well, blame Georgian architects.

Red Cow Pub taught me the true meaning of Pub Food. In fact, sometimes I still like to think of those Hot Chilly Nachos and Cajun Fries, which served as the perfect brunch on a chilly Sunday morning. And the service was one of the friendliest I've found till date. The server helped us out quite a bit with the order since we weren't looking to binge.
The ambience is that of a warm cosy pub with a fireplace and complete with wooden interiors serving the choicest of ales.
I don't know what they put in their food or drink, but there's definitely something about the place that doesn't want to make you leave.

Visited for lunch with friends. Great food and the cook that day went all out to please. Authentic Khmer food was served. Service from behind the bar was comfortingly attentive too.

A excellent public house. Great location & food & beer. Nice to see a community quiz going on in the main pub itself. There should be more pubs like this . Highly recommended 👌

Lovely people, lovely place. So friendly. Rooms and beds great. Breakfast is complimentary in room with half a pint of milk. Very good price for position close to Richmond Station and town and also The Thames for strolling or visiting as we did Ham House National Trust place.

I can only thank Stephen for organising a do for my family at the Red Cow . Nothing was too much trouble . Food and fizz were great and last minute alterations were no problem to him and his staff . Can only thank him for his kindness and service on the day .

British pub with Thai/ Cambodia cuisine . One of the busiest bar in the neighborhood with live sports streaming and weekend live music . Drinks are served like flash but to get a table and enjoy your food , please do plan . Most of the time the tables are pre booked and it’s hard to find an ideal spot and enjoy the moment. Male staff looks grumpy but they are really kind . Hospitality must be highlighted , during the busy hours they make sure all the orders and food served on time with no delay . Food taste is average . We have tried multiple dishes during past few visits . Starters are value for money 💰.

Came here on a Sunday and what a vibe! Brilliant live music and great atmosphere. Wonderful pub, that feels like a country side pub in the middle of London.
