My son and I always visit The Old Ship before we go to the rugby at Twickenham. Great beer, appetising food and friendly efficient staff. Thoroughly recommended.
Popped in for a pint while having a wander around Richmond.This is a great pub with a lovely atmosphere and the most polite and respectfull staff i have ever come across in any pub i have been in,even thanking us for coming as we were leaving.I will be coming back to this pub in the future for sure �

My visit was on New Years eve, nice barmaids worth a visit just for that fact.....

Great Place, Great Pub.... Although many pubs in England are being acquired by larger corporations (as Youngs or O'neills), this place still keep the original, old fashioned style and taste. Good food, real food, I ate an Scottish pie, drank two or three Guiness and that is it! Go to see for yourself!
As its name suggests this is a nautical themed pub right down to the names on the loos - Pirates and Mermaids!
The decor is traditional, dark wood with some stained glass windows and is on two levels. There are a few TV screens for watching sports.
Great selection of beers and spirits. Didn't eat here so can't comment on the food other than what I saw looked good.
Bar service is friendly, enthusiastic and efficient.
This is a nice cosy pub. The staff were really welcoming and the service was quick. We ordered fish and chips. The fish was really tasty but the batter was a but soggy. I got a decent portion of chips but my husbands portion was significantly smaller (I'd say 50% less than mine). I'd go back for drinks but probably not for food as it was expensive and there was a disparity in portion sizes.
Had a lovely Saturday evening at the Ship! Daisy and Julia made such an effort and made us feel so welcome. The atmosphere was amazing and the girls recommended us delicious drinks.
The food was a tad bit disappointing but they made up for it with fantastic service. Loved Daisy’s vibe and Julia brought all the laughs to the table! Even gave us some dog treats for our Alfie. Will definitely come back for drinks and good times!
We held a birthday celebration in the upper deck (the rooms upstairs) at the Old Ship. Everything was great, from the initial communication to the actual event. The staff were so helpful and the food was delicious! We would recommend this pub for any function, or just for a good lunch. Thanks to all the staff who made it so special.
Friendly service and cozy pub feel. It took awhile for our meals to come but that gave us some extra time for another pint 😁🇬🇧

If you're looking for a great Sunday lunch option, you should seek out this establishment. The food was delicious, and it has a decent room upstairs with nice seating options.
I've also had dinner at The Old Ship once and the food was of high quality.

Nice pub with a young staff. Had the Sunday roast chicken supreme and watercress salad, which was delicious.

Remarkable service , good chicken wings , and comfortable upstairs seating for a proper sports viewing (we watched a premier league game) . Great experience, will definitely come back when in Richmond.
Stopped into The Old Ship for the first time earlier this week for lunch and a few pints with friends and I'm very glad we did. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was extremely charming, and the food was excellent. I recommend the "bacon and cheese puff pastry twirls" as well as the "pork and caramelised onion sausage roll." Will return next time I'm in the area, no doubt.
Had two nice drinks after a great visit to Kew Gardens.
We did'nt eat but a lot of customers seemed to be enjoying theirs.

Nice pub. It's an old one. They have a small beer garden, courtyard. Dogs are allowed here. Good selection of drinks. It's a Young's establishment. Restrooms are om the ground floor.
The team @ the old ship (Ian, Holly and Laura) hosted us for an afternoon watching the England v Fiji rugby match. The were very helpful and polite. Great service team.
I first came in here about 30 years ago when it was a Young's pub with great food. I don't actually know if it is still a Young's pub but the drinks and food are still of a very high standard. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the prices aren't excessive for this area. Happy to visit again.
Really lovely pub with great food and service. They even offered me Mayo to go with my roast, which i usually find hard to ask, as bar staff usually make me feel uncomfortable. Not here. I definitely recommend it.
Really great food, lovely service and a nice location. Try to book a table in advance as it gets quite full. Definitely book in for a roast dinner, very tasty food. The vegan options are also delicious. Very reasonable prices and a good range of drinks. Some sports games on the TVs, toilets available, stairs to seating upstairs.
Not only was the meat pie top notch but the house special Bloody Mary was fantastic! Best I have had since being in UK. You will enjoy this old and lovely pub!
