Reviews The Roebuck

Paul is a superb landlord and the staff are uniformly wonderful. We used to come to the Roebuck all the time when we lived in the UK and, back for a brief visit, absolutely HAD to drop by. Sit outside, enjoy the amazing view of Terrace Field. The Roebuck in Richmond is one of those pubs that I've enjoyed for decades and there are good reasons for this. Not a place for showboating or loud music and not the youngest crowd if that's what you're into but just one of the finest pubs in London.

The pub is simple, but the view outside is stunning ! You can grab your beer and go outside to enjoy the hill view. Good beers, good food and nice staff. A queue is always there, but is doesn't take longer.

Great service! Amazing atmosphere, very nice house white wine: a fresh Chardonnay after 8km walking along the river between Kingston and Richmond. Must go!

The Roebuck Pub in Richmond is just how you would picture an English pub. Beautiful interior and exterior and one of the best views in England. The coolest thing is that on a lovely, sunny day you can take your drink in to the park and enjoy it. When you're done you just put your empty and the green plastic box and it magically gets taken back to the pub.

What a fantastic pub! It's 300 years old and it and its view are protected from development! There is a good selection of beverages to choose from. The Thatchers fusion cider is really good! They also serve food. The staff is extremely friendly. I think one of the people I talked to may also own the pub. She is very proud of the establishment. You can get plastic pint cups and go across the road to sit on the benches and take in the magnificent view while enjoying a pint of ale or cider. I love the interior decor. It's cozy and had a warm feeling about it. Restrooms are on the ground floor. Stop in for a pint if you find yourself in Richmond!

Great spot in Richmond Hill. Grab a drink from this pub in a takeaway cup and sit along the many benches that overlook the terrace gardens and great views. The pub is very nice inside, plenty of seating and accessible toilets. Didn't have any food here but the options look good for visitors to the area and a good variety. It's got the prime location and is the only pub by the hill so it does get pretty packed with customers wanting to get something from the bar. Enjoy a pint or a glass of wine and sit back and relax in the sun.

Roebuck Pub in Richmond offers a fantastic setting and some truly delightful food. During our visit, my girlfriend and I discovered this charming establishment on our way to Richmond Park, and we couldn't resist the temptation to indulge in their mouthwatering nachos, king prawns with chorizo, and chicken wings. Situated in a picturesque location, the pub embodies the quintessential English charm, providing a lovely ambiance to enjoy your meal. With scenic views overlooking the park and river, it serves as the perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience. The food at Roebuck Pub is excellent, and we particularly enjoyed the flavorsome nachos, the succulent king prawns paired with chorizo, and the mouthwatering chicken wings. The dishes were prepared with care and served to perfection, leaving us thoroughly satisfied with our choices. The staff at Roebuck Pub were attentive and kind, ensuring that our dining experience was pleasant from start to finish. Their friendly service added to the overall enjoyment of the visit. In conclusion, Roebuck Pub in Richmond is a scenic haven that offers delicious food in a charming setting. We stopped for lunch during our day out in Richmond. It was a lovely lunch with kind service! We ordered the salt & pepper squid (which was nicely deep fried), beef sirloin ciabatta (crusty toasted bread, perfectly cooked medium rare), steak and ale pie (nice thick tender chunks of beef, nicely flavored). Had sticky toffee sticky pudding - soft and spongy, buttery caramel! Also had shandy which was really good! Would recommend coming back and would love to try the Sunday roast another time!

I went into the Roebuck whilst I was staying in the Hotel next door.. It is quite a historic pub as it has been open for centuries. There is a lovely atmosphere as soon as you walk in. I had the steak and ale pie which was absolutely delicious. I found that the staff were all so friendly and helpful. I will definitely be going back there again when I am next back in the area.

Great food, great pub atmosphere in an old, old, old building. We had the flat iron steak, I had squash food, all very tasty. Prosecco to cheer up, cold and perfect… Good selection of beers although they all looks water to me… very reasonable prices. I will return for sure!

This place is fantastic! I couldn’t have found a better place to eat my first original Fish and Chips. The staff is very friendly and the food was amazing (I almost forgot to make a photo of it as you can see, I was enjoying it so much😂). Don’t miss this place if you are around Richmond park!
