My rating is purely based on the location, wine list, service and ambience. I’ve only visited this place in the summer too, love it. Yes it’s pricey but it’s so worth it. I’ve had a few appetisers and they were tasty.
We ordered a chateaubriand steak with mushroom sauce. The steak was delicious extremely tender but the sauce honestly was tasteless it wasn't as I expected it to be.
The gnocchi was delicious well cooked and really tasty.
The portions were just right for two people.
Overall the place is nice to go to for dinner the ambiance is chic.
The last time I ate in a Steak House was in the early 1970s in Winchmore Hill, North London, when I was a teenager. Back then my mother had just founded her later very successful antiques business based in Germany. She started it, with minimal initial investment, from a basement flat in Hannover. Every six weeks or so, she would rent a van, take a ferry to Harwich and drive around the UK on a buying spree. During my school holidays I would accompany her on her tour mainly around the Midlands and then into London. To begin with, she was intimidated by the London traffic, so we’d stay well away from the centre of town and mooch around the dealers in Islington, Barnet, Archway and Winchmore Hill to buy antique mahogany furniture and silver to take back to her shop in Germany. I suppose you could say that, as von Haefen & Daughter, we were a hopefully classier and more attractive version of the rag and bone team, Steptoe and Son!
My meal was fantastic couldnt ask for more. food was succulent and perfect specially the steaks. could do with little lower prices but worth it for special occasions
There is something slightly counter-intuitive about a detox lunch. I suspect Gaucho recognises that – their January set lunch menu offer has two sides. The menu printed on the ‘white’ side of the card includes a ‘Green Juice’ – coconut water with blended lime, apple, kale, cucumber and mint, sea bream tiraditos, steamed cod with coriander and lime and super fruit salad. Turn the menu over and on the other side, printed on a black background, there’s a rather naughtier selection of dishes including a starter of beef empanada, rib-eye steak for the main and chocolate tart or sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The idea, if you happen to be trying your best to diet or cut alcohol during January, then the detox menu will save you from temptation. But, anyone eating with you can still indulge. Each menu is just £23 for two courses or £26 for three.
Our visit was to celebrate my birthday. Parking... there is none got a spot luckily a 10 minute walk away. The restaurant is located along the river (",). We were made very welcome and out table (pre booked) was ready on arrival. The restaurant is very dark, and I would describe the tables as cosy. The food... sausage platter was lovely! Steak - WoW wonderful I always go med/well and it was spot on. Sides are separate and only a small choice. Chips were a real let down but the greens were very tasty. You have to pay extra for sauce with your steak and it comes in a thimble! I passed on dessert but overall a lovely meal out. Service was good, staff recommend cuts and inform you about specials. I would defo recommend to all steak lovers.

Always busy, do book. Staff always helpful and attentive. Yes it's pricey, but long and short of it...probably the best steak in London. Fans of fillet steak may, if blind folded, think they are cutting through warm butter...couldn't eat enough of it. Argentinian wine list a bit restrictive and a little pretentious but very quaffable. Expect to pay £130 -£150 for 2 with a bottle of wine. Recommend.
Walked in for a staurday afternoon late lunch. You pay a little bit extra but you get that little bit extra, especially in service. Good selection of wines too.
Good food, if a little pricey for certain items. Also, during busy times it can get incredibly noisy and feel akin to a nightclub, where it is impossible to hold a conversation.
We came here yesterday, had a great time! Was served by Evan who was incredibly accommodating and gave excellent service! We were about to only order sea food but he realised we’re Muslims and showed us some of their halal steaks. Steak was cooked perfectly, the fish and tuna tacos were some of the best we’ve had. We had a much bigger variety of platters but they were devoured way too quick for the photos to be taken. Definitely recommend!
Wow, what a place ! We had a 5 star experience upon entry where we met the lovely Jack who catered to our dining requests impeccably. Then looked after thoroughly by Piotr all evening who recommended great options to us. Thank you to all the staff - the food, atmosphere, drinks and wine were perfect. Also thank you to my boss, Artur who kindly made the booking for us. We’ll be back for sure !
Pre-story: I like to cook and my food is very good. I am buying the best ingredients and I can make a good plate of food. That's why I want to go to any restaurant a lot.
What's happened: we came to Gaucho Richmond, an exceptional atmosphere and super polite staff. I felt already welcomed, outside sits have got blankets. Nice.
More important food. Extremely tasty and a good plate of food. I felt like I am on a master chef-tasting tv show.

Come for lunch. I'm sure dinner is also lovely, but a leisurely lunch is one of life's great pleasures. Our food was excellent, the vibe was relaxed, and the service was friendly and efficient.

Superb. The waitress was attentive yet not overbearing and the food was excellent. They cook meat to perfection (Sirloin -rare), and the sides are scrumptious.
Fabulous service from Melvin and incredible steak! Can’t recommend enough- if the weather is warm it is worth requesting to sit outdoors to watch the sun set over the Thames ❤️
The steaks! I must say, the quality of the steaks exceeded my expectations. Each cut was cooked to perfection, delivering a succulent and flavorful taste. The steaks were tender, juicy, and expertly seasoned. It was evident that great care was taken in sourcing high-quality meat and in the skillful preparation of each dish. Additionally, the presentation of the steaks was visually appealing, further enhancing the dining experience.
I attended on a Friday night with my guests and we all had different cuts of steak, with sauces as well as side-dishes. Lemon flavoured beer for me and cocktails for the other guests. Friendly atmosphere by The Thames in a lovely riverside restaurant with Al fresco options.
An excellent dining experience. A warm welcome, excellent off-menu classic cocktails, incredible steak paired with fine wine. Can't fault any part of it. Thank you to the whole team, with a shout out to Francesca for excellent service. Wouldn't think twice about returning for more.

Made a reservation for a family dinner in the VIP section, table was not fully ready on arrival but was directed to a high table near the bar whilst waiting.
The VIP section was located in the corner somewhat tucked away but not too away.
Amazing waiter that explained the cuts of meats and looked after us for the entire evening.
All elements of the food was delicious and full of flavour, we did not stay for desert but the menu looked amazing.
Highly recommend- devastated that I cannot remember the waiters name but he was very hospitable!
Everything was perfect, we ordered a steak, grilled fish and Wague burger. We had starters they were perfect. But the Wagu burger was not juicy and it was a bit rubbery to eat.
The restaurant is pet friendly and we celebrate a birthday with our pet.
As dessert the lemon tart was very delicious!

Dog friendly (indoors and out!). Fantastic food as always, the meat is really something special. Wonderful service. Not so expensive for the Sunday lunch compared to local gastro pubs but certainly better standard of food. We went on a sunny Sunday which was very busy but the restaurant did it’s best (great staff, enough of them and really well organised). We did have some hiccups & had to repeat orders twice and wait a little while for second rounds of meat on the unlimited Sunday lunch but staff were extremely apologetic. Overall fantastic experience and I’m looking forward to returning!
Gaucho Richmond Riverside UK fabulous Steakhouse with beautiful view of the river. Filet mignon was tender and juicy, excellent service as well as managers welcoming with Chandon sparkling wine was a very nice touch. I would highly recommend if you are in the area to stop in for an experience you will not forget.
Exceptional, managed to get a table for lunch, service was excellent. We ordered from the set menu and no complaints. The carpaccio was fresh and full flavoured. The watermelon salad equally vibrant. The rump steak was absolutely perfect. The hale was a surprisingly good choice. And the Pretty Gorgeous Rose was a perfect pairing.
It's a lovely place that checks all the boxes! Amazing selection of stakes and superior service by the staff. The location is also very lovely with nice views from the patio and inside. Will be back again!
