Great food, nice beer , friendly staff. And down from Liverpool and Was passing through Redford stopped over for the night and found this amazing place , well worth a visit . Would come again
Fine pint of Harrison’s Best Bitter. Served by the gentleman with a solid Ron Swanson confidence but with more warmth and welcome. Fine food, great table service and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended
Nice location by the canal. Amazing burgers! I went for their classic with bacon & cheese.
A word of warning...I wouldn't recommend it for a first date; unless your partner will enjoy watching you attempt to eat a burger half the size of your head, with fatty juice and ketchup running down your chin!

Fantastic micro brewery on the edge of Retford town and the garden over looks the canal. Dogs welcome. Loyalty card and with some cracking ales, the card will soon be full.

Staying in the are for a wedding used Tripadvisor to find somewhere to eat. Came across The Beer Shed in Retford so booked me and my wife in for a Friday evening. The fact that it described itself as a brewery tap was the thing that swung the decision. The food (a shared seafood platter) was excellent and great value I thought, couldn’t get through it all. The Harrison brewed on site beers were very enjoyable. However the outstanding element of the evening was the friendly, welcoming and professional staff from the booking in, being shown to table and the bar and table service. It’s this service level that makes this a lovely place to visit. The owners should be proud.
I travelled up from Portsmouth to meet a mate who travelled down from Sunderland...I spent both nights here as it was our favourite bar in Retford. All the bar staff and owners were really helpful and friendly with both them and the locals making us feel welcome. Special mention goes to Liv who was behind the bar for most of our stay, very friendly (despite me being a southern softy 😂)... I didn't eat here but it looked fantastic. I spent more time in this bar than in my bed... 3 Harrison's brewery ales on the pumps plus several other ales on taps and even do a couple of normal lagers for peoples mates who don't like ale. I believe more taprooms should have that option... 5 stars from me, marvellous
This is a hidden gem in Retford. A pub / microbrewery, good capacity, nice staff, and reasonable, competitively priced locally brewed beer (as well as some keg from further away). This is the kind of local business you should be looking after folks
Great place only spoilt by one ignorant staff member, the burgers at £14.99 looked expensive but we're recommended by a local couple we had a brief chat with so we went for those, glad we did, delicious with a side of proper home made chips, recommend a visit just for the burgers, there was a good selection of ales, unfortunately didn't have time to taste them all. Overall a great place to eat
The Brew shed has an amazing atmosphere. The staff are always super friendly. The food is always spot on. It's dog friendly. I love this place! The drinks are always spot on. They made me a Mocktail last night when I didn't fancy an alcoholic drink. This was made all fancy and I really appreciated the effort the bartender put into it. They really do go the extra mile in here.

Impressive in so many ways! I'd heard amazing things about the food, drink, atmosphere and friendliness of the Brew Shed, but it really does leave a great taste in the mouth!
I went with 3 others who all raved about their meals and drinks.
I had got in touch ahead of the meal, but Tom the Chef made an effort to come out to speak directly with me about any food sensitivities I have. Because of the various issues, it is really difficult to get a decent meal out, but Tom listened and came up with a brilliant meal for me. Oh the taste was FABULOUS! So full of flavour! The chicken was incredibly succulent too. This Chef knows his craft and he oozes food knowledge and passion for cooking amazing meals. Just LOOK at that basil under the halloumi! This meal is delicious. Ohh and the halloumi is the best I've had!
Honestly, this is the BEST meal I've had out in a long time. It looked great, it tasted incredible.
The drinks are excellent too.
The staff are all friendly, attentive and very nice.
I think I've found the perfect place to eat ❤️
