With an impromptu call from my folks this morning we had yet another delicious Sunday lunch at the Rendham White Horse. The roast beef was SO tasty, everything was perfectly cooked. The atmosphere is relaxed and service, great. It’s becoming one of our favourite places to eat.
Occasionally you call by chance in a small public house serving food, expecting to be disappointed. Today my wife and I dropped in at Rendham White Horse and had a great experience. First class meals for both of us. An excellent friendly service from the landlady, quality music playing softly in the background, and an honour to meet, head of security, Luna; a very calm dog with a sense of presence. We have no hesitation in giving a very positive review. Clearly a couple who know how to run a good pub. Well done.
Messaged on facebook to book a table for my family on Easter Sunday and received a prompt response. Upon arrival we were welcomed with a smile and shown to our seat. I had advised when booking that our dog would be us and their dog friendly approach was evident. Treats, a water bowl and dog blanket already set at our table.
The fire was warming and the staff were attentive and friendly.
We ordered Beef and lamb roasts and the food was delicious. Finishing with a delightful sticky toffee pud and custard.
Would highly recommend 👌
Super welcoming dog friendly pub. Gorgeous inside, very delicious food. Dogs probably more welcome than humans 😄 of course this is a joke, but our table was equipped with a blanket, water and treats for our boy.
The food is super delicious. Highly recommend it.
Well readers here I am again reluctantly recommending another fabulous pub with dynamite food.
The reason for being reluctant is the more of you that discover how good this place is the harder it will be for my wife and I to book a table.
On entering the pub you are greeted like long lost friends & a roaring fire awaits.
We were a party of 4 my wife and I and our two friends, we were show to our table and give a broadsheet ( yes I do mean a broadsheet) menus in the style of newspapers of old.
The menus had interesting facts, jokes, sudoku as well as a good range of dishes.
We chose a large merlot, whisky & coke, a pint of Victoria ale and 1 other ale, senior moment I’ve forgot what it was..
We ordered 3 Sunday roast lambs &a roast beef.
I have not included any photos not out of spite but all the photos previously taken are absolutely correct.
The food on arrival was plenty full and served on hot plates, we we even given without asking extra gravy ( which was to die for).
The food was heavenly massive Yorkshire puds, parsnips, peas roast spuds, gratin potatoes and a large amount of either lamb or beef. ( the slides of beef were thick and tasty ).
Deserts I’m ashamed to say we even managed to squeeze in a pud, 2 x ice creams , 1 x Syrup sponge and one sticky toffee pudding which I’m convinced was home made as just superb.
We will definitely be coming back..
First time eating here on Saturday night. Great friendly service and great food. Good varied menu. Really nice atmosphere, overall a lovely pub.
So friendly and welcoming. Tasty menu. Shared a dessert. Looking forward to returning. Dogs are welcomed and treats and blankets provided. Great beer section too.
After passing by on Saturday I noticed this pretty little pub and decided to call and see if I could book for Sunday lunch the next day.... I was greeted by the landlady and she kindly squeezed me in despite the fact it was Fathers day, the next day. I asked if dogs were allowed and she welcomed them. The following day I arrived and was again greeted by the landlady. She took me to my seat and it was set for me AND my dog. There were dog biscuits lined up for her, a water bowl and a lovely comfortable blanket for her to curl up on. Not unusual at this pub, if you've stated that you have a dog. I was handed the Sunday menu with my drink and chose the beef. It came beautifully served with a separate dish of vegetables and a little jug of gravy. Everything was homemade, no frozen veg or pre-prepared roasties. Delicious beef and even homemade horseradish. I was recommended a glass of Cabinet Sauvignon and it didn't dissapoint. For dessert I had fresh cherries with meringue and Eton mess ice-cream yummy 😋 I decided to have coffee in the lovely garden at the rear of the pub and the landlord( and also the chef ) kindly brought my dog a tasty piece if pork which she devoured. !!!
All in all a well run, delightfully decorated and excellent food...... 👌 this would definitely be in my top ten .
Thursday afternoon lunch during the school holidays. Pleasant walk over the fields from the cottage we were staying in to get to this lovely traditional village pub just across the road from the church. Delicious lunch and very friendly and attentive service. Inside of the pub recently and tastefully refurbished. We’ll be back.
Lovely food, great atmosphere and service. Big selection on the menu and the specials board. Great deal on specific days. Had steak and a pint for
£15.
