Lovely pub with great staff & service. Good atmosphere sitting outside in the beer garden and kids and dogs friendly. Went for sunday roast which was OK. The kids pasta, however, was too over cooked which was a shame. 3 course meal for kids is a tenner which is really reasonable.

We made a late booking yesterday afternoon on the recommendation of a family member, and we were very impressed. We were shown to a window seat with excellent views of the garden where the resident cat, Socks, could be seen patrolling his/her patch. The service was excellent - the fourth member of our party was held up but the staff were attentive to our needs whilst we waited. Special care was taken to accommodate a food intolerance, and the dishes we selected were delicious. The restaurant was busy and buzzing without seeming hectic, and the service remained very good even when more diners arrived and the restaurant filled up We can highly recommend The Black Horse.

Gorgeous Sunday Roasts - worth every penny! We went for Sunday lunch as a group of 4. It is incredibly popular and gets very busy so booking is a necessity. My partner and I had the roast beef which was incredibly tender and I loved the option for unlimited potatoes. When I asked for more potatoes, I was also offered more veg. which I was impressed by. The other members of our party had the fish curry and lamb roulade which were met with high praise. Staff were friendly and attentive and service was very efficient despite the busy lunch rush. Would definitely return and recommend!

Great pub with an exciting menu, not your standard gastro pub food, imaginative and tasty. Great fish selection too. We went on Monday and it was really busy which was a nice surprise. They also do bring your own drinks on Mondays which is a great idea!

School night treat - what a great night - greeted initially by The Maitre De and he was very personable - his welcoming attitude and extreme knowledge of wine and the menu was excellent- Dan your a real star šŸ‘varied menu and my partner and I ensure we eat differently so we can try it all and food envy across the table at all stages - starter and dessert souffle are both Gorgeous. The jazz music was very relaxed and didnt dominate the night - on leaving I have booked again for 4 weeks time as the enjoyable night needs to be repeated -

Me and my partner had a lovely lunch here. Waitress was so lovely (didnā€™t catch her name, sorry), quick service. Added bonus was the little kitty that kept us company (not sure if part of the pub haha) but even so, we loved it!
