Popped onto the Star Inn last night whilst the power was off in the village had a lovely meal and the fire was lit a lovely cosy atmosphere...plus they had been offering free tea and coffe during the power cut to all...highly recommended village pub.

Honestly the best carvery around! I haven't found anywhere else locally than can top it! Great value for money, and the food is always consistently good! The desserts are really lovely too! Just a great pub with a great atmosphere, and great food! That's why we will keep coming back! :)

The Star Inn, became like a local to us having a Holiday cottage very close by enabled us to eat here a few nights. A well recommended pub with large gardens and out door areas for drinking and eating. Main bar area and two dining/table areas for eating. Friendly staff, A really good selection of good tasty food at reasonable cost was on offer too with plenty of Real Ales and ciders to choose from to wash it all down. All in all a worthy visit if you are in the area.

Several rooms in this pub which is just outside St Day village. Seems to be a local centre for community. Very large garden also, with play area. Range of beers, not the usual Sharps or St Austell.

Great village pub with loads of character. The carvery was one of if not the best we have had. Choice of 4 meats and lovely fresh vegetables. Puddings were gorgeous. Lovely friendly but very efficient staff. The landlord (retired "killick Fishhead") If you are retired or serving RN you will know what i mean. Great hard working bloke. Will definitely be back.

The best Sunday Carvery around and pretty much all gluten free for the awkward ones like me! They will even provide a gluten free Yorkshire pudding and stuffing if you ask. Service is excellent. A proper village pub, consistently getting it right. Even for the awkward ones! Well done 👏

Went here for Sunday carvery which was spot on with veggie and vegan options. Good idea to book as most of the tables were reserved. Will definitely eat here again very soon.

Great country pub. Not too sure about the queue for getting drinks. Perhaps ask the locals who already have drinks not to sit in that corner. Food was yummy

Just stopped at the Star Inn for food while on holiday. What a great find. Food was amazing, there were vegan options along with vegetarian and meat meals. The pub is a lovely village style pub and the food was outstanding much better than we expected. Definitely recommend to anyone in this area. Thank you.

Love this place, eat here frequently, food is always good and reasonably priced. We held my wife's 60th birthday in the fairly new function room, again a great venue at low cost. Family friendly, dog friendly awesome 😎

Great pub, great food, unpretentious, very friendly. The Zennor bitter is brill and the fish platter is a meal for two …normally 😬

What a gem We saw a Facebook post in events of an all you can eat American diner evening while on holiday . We booked for 7 of us ( and 3 dogs as it’s a dog friendly pub ) . For £10 a person and £5 a child we had the choices of burgers , hot dogs , Mac & cheese , pulled pork , sloppy joes , fries and sides and after 2 big plate fulls we were stuffed . The staff were amazingly friendly as were a couple of the locals we chatted to . Would definitely recommend and next time we are this way we’ll return

Lovely, friendly place. Their Mexican chili is definitely not for the faint hearted! Loved the Thai green chicken curry, it was perfect! Unfortunately we missed the Sunday roast, you definitely need to book in advance!
