A terrifically diverse menu with a solid friendly service. The menu offers a wonderful choice, as is expected, however I was a little disappointed with the lamb shanks spices. The fitout is a standard, pack them in layout and you are constantly bumping into the people around you. Wonderfully warm temperature inside but don’t get the table near the fire - not surprising with all the bodies packed in - it is clearly a very popular local haunt. The drinks list is ok and suits the food. Good sized servings. Really a 3.5 on my list but it’s local popularity pushes it to a 4 and I really did enjoy the atmosphere and service - the Turkish beer was good as well.

Cor blimey, strike me down with a loofer and call me Belinda... This is a truly excellent restaurant. It's cheap (stuffed and exceedingly well-wined for £25 a head), fantastically tasty (have the lambs liver... And the falafel is so much better than it needs to be) and they treat the customer right. Arrived on a busy Friday with my mate and they couldn't guarantee us a table because they had a full restaurant of people who had finished dining but they couldn't tell us when people would finish their conversations. This is just the sort of place I'd like to be. As a result I would strongly recommend you book in advance, but how wonderful to have a restaurant that will let you stay as long as you like and never kick you off your table. As it happened we waited anyway and they have us free aperitifs to say sorry.

Had a Friday night dinner with friends here and the atmosphere was great. The food was delicious and really stood out from other Turkish restaurants, the meat was so tender and juicy and everything had great flavour. Was not a huge fan of the mocktail or dessert but it was presented nicely and a good portion.

The real Turkish experience. I know it well because my wife is Turkish and I have been in Istanbul many times. We were served by Rafi, super attentive. Always paying attention to our needs. Food was great. I am not going to lie, the prices I saw at the menu weren’t cheap but with the inflation hitting us I am not sure anymore. What I can say is that I am used to go to a Turkish restaurant (the top ones are in Green Lane, near Turnpike Lane) and a nice grilled Seabream (my favourite fish) is between £15-17. Here the Seabass was £21. Again, not sure the current prices around yet. We arrived at 15:30 for a lunch and luckily we were just on time for the lunch set menu. It was fantastic! Check the pics of every single plate and the bill for prices! Same menu for evening is £5 more. Fair enough… Food was really good but more importantly, how freshly prepared all the chopped vegetables were. The restaurant atmosphere was outstanding. Super clean and welcoming. Same with toilets. Definitely we’ll come back again for the “a la carte” menu and review it again for Those high prices I saw. At the end we met the owner, Erol, yes like Errol Flint!. Such a great person and superb profesional. Old style welcoming, service and attention that nowadays looks totally gone. Desserts were good enough (not mind blowing) Lunch/ dinner set menu? Totally heads up!! You won’t be disappointed!

It was quite a grown up place by the atmosphere and service, we were greeted by the staff in a very professional manner. They were keen to accommodate any requests and made sure we were treated well. The lighting used low voltage so it did seem dark and a bit difficult to see anything, but it was nicely decorated. The food itself was nicely presented, although a bit disappointed to learn they didn't serve bulgur, which I thought would be normal for a Turkish restaurant. The portions were smaller than usual for a similar meal at other places, but the quality made up for it. Parking might be a bit difficult as it is on a main road, it might be easier in the evening as the restrictions are eased up.

Lovely spot in Wanstead, their Otto Chicken with mushrooms is amazing, although this time I went for meat moussaka, which was surprisingly lovely! Their lunch set menu gives a nice options to choose, recommend choosing cheesecake for dessert.

A fantastic quality lunch today. The highlight was the exceptional service from the young lady who was serving us - she was incredible and a waitress and have an air of elegance to the restaurant. The food did not disappoint and the salmon was the best I've eaten in a while. Was nervous to try here but not disappointed at all and recommend highly

Such a lovely restaurant and staff. This is one of my very few Google reviews but I had to make sure I give them a great rating after the nice dinner and experience I had with my friends this evening. The food was delicious and the portions were big. The restaurant looks beautiful and cosy- we were sat next to the fireplace. The staff were very nice and attentive, particularly Erol. Such a gentleman, he was so kind to us I had to make sure that I get his name and thank him here for his wonderful service.

Otto is situated on my favourite local high street in Wanstead. In the summer the front of the restaurant opens up and allows for the natural lighting, cool air and chatter to freely flow. For two people alone we wanted to try a lot and so ordered: Mixed mezze dips, Baba ganoush, Hummus, Spinach and feta borek, Grilled king prawns, Chicken on skewer, Fresh mussels and Otto stuffed mushrooms! Yes there was a lot of food but luckily we went before the busy evening rush and so were seated for three hours to get through every small plate. The food as a whole was cooked and seasoned well, packed with flavour and offered a satisfying taste of Mediterranean cuisine. The atmosphere is relaxed and I quite enjoy a restaurant with staff that allow the guests to sit back and enjoy the food and ambience without any pressure. Towards the end of our meal we spoke to the manager and in conversation told him we were celebrating a birthday - some minutes later he came out with one of the best cheesecakes I have had. What a pleasant surprise! Thank you so much for having us.

Very attentive and professional service. Offering delicious Turkish-Mediterranean meze fare. Bifold windows mean you can sit inside and enjoy the good weather and fresh air, watching life of Wanstead high street tick by on a sunny evening.

Great local restaurant. Consistently good Turkish food and friendly service. Wide variety of vegetarian dishes as well (the "healthy" mezze menu is decent value for money).

Super satisfied with taste and service. Portions are large. We were in a rush and everything arrived within 15mins. I’d revisit again if I stay around.
