Highly recommend! The food was so delicious, homemade and so authentic in flavour. We loved the themed interior, fish tank and gentle music in the background. Recommend the cheese samosas. The octopus croquettes were also super yummy. For mains we ordered goat curry and salmani chicken. We ordered sides of roti and parantha. The portion sizes were more than enough for us and left overs were happily packed away for us to take home. Everything tasted so fresh and moreish and was topped off with a great Tequila sunrise cocktail. The evening was such a treat.. the chef Hema and her husband make a great team 👏 A new local favourite.. We will definitely be back for more! Thank you so much for accommodating us ☺️

Wow!!! Such a find. We dined there for the first time tonight. Recommended by a friend and we were so pleased they did. The restaurant is between Caversham and centre of Reading but even though its not central do not let this put you off. The food is to die for and the owner was so so friendly and service was great. Everything is homemade and so delicious. Highly recommended. I rarely do a review on the same night but totally awesome evening tonight.

We stumbled across this place on our way to another restaurant. We saw that they had a few vegetarian and vegan options so decided to try. It was DELICIOUS! Everything cooked to order; Hema was friendly and helpful. We ordered a Curry Burry (chickpea fritters) and a Red Kidney Bean Curry (with potatoes) as well as parathas and a portion of basmati rice. We had a train to catch so couldn't stay to try the desserts, but we will definitely come back with friends/family! The decoration is quite nice too, feels like a little escape to Mauritius. Prices were reasonable too.

We went as a party of 5, 3 adults and 2 kids, and the food was absolutely delicious. The cheese samosas we're absolutely delicious as was the chicken catless. Two of our party are from Mauritius and said it was authentic and very tasty. Food was cooked to order and the service was great. The chef even made an off menu curry sauce for one of our party to cater for allergies. It was quiet while we were there but we went for a very early dinner (4pm) so that's to be expected. Would 100% recommend this place and will be going again.

Came for a dinner with my family. Food was delicious, especially the biryani. Staff were friendly and helpful when ordering as it was our first time eating Mauritius food. Owner also came out and was super friendly again guiding us on what to get. Restaurant was clean and decorated nicely. Would definitely come again

My partner and I were trying to find somewhere to eat, then he mentioned this place so we went. Hema was so welcoming and funny, then we met her husband who was exactly the same. She explained so well the dishes, and because I struggle with spices and chilli, she made me my own "Fake Curry" 😂. It was delicious. The drinks were so tasty and the setting was cosy and very perfect for what they are trying to present to their customers. My partner and I enjoyed the food so much, we couldn't remember the last time we enjoyed food this good. We will be back, and you have to try it. Plus they have the best vegetarian samosas. Top service!!

Had a fab meal for my partner's birthday a few nights ago. The couple who run the business are so friendly and welcoming and the food was absolutely delicious. The lady who owns the business is from Mauritius, so its all totally authentic. It can be really spicy too if you like it spicy (or mild if not!) We tried a wide variety of things. I'm veggie and there were tons of options for me. Everything was really great. We'll be back!

Really lovely place with great cocktails. We had the Mango Rum and the Espresso Martini, lovely and strong!! The owner and staff are super friendly and happy to talk about their passion for Mauritius. We will be back for the food very soon, which looks great and completely authentic. Highly recommended.

Never been here? Do it! Lovely owners, cooking fresh flavoured Mauritian food. Dhal Puri, taro fritters, aubergine curry & daube ( bean, potato & tomato stew). OMG! Then I found the cute little hut out back- can book. If you like rum - they have a lot of kinds to try.

Had an absolutely fantastic evening here. Both food and cocktails were gorgeous, with food clearly freshly made by the owner herself. I read another review that said how obvious the owners passion is for what she does and I couldn't agree more. The decor and atmosphere was really fun, really feels like you're on holiday. But most importantly I cannot fault the friendly and courteous service, made us feel like members of the family. Will absolutely be returning 😊

Very nice homely food, very fresh. The staff are extremely friendly and the owner is very nice. Tried the half moon chicken, chick pea fritter tasted real nice. The taro root fritter was something I never had before, very soft and light. Fish and aubergine curry was a well made dad's lamb and jackfruit was very homely.nicely made Fried rice was well made and the Mojito drink was very refreshing. Finished it off with a tiramisu.

What a lovely evening we had here. Everything was perfect, and Hema and Ming were great hosts. The place had a good vibe about it, plenty of pics of Mauritius, colourful with some nice touches. Staff were 1st class, we were quite a large group, and we messed them about a bit on numbers, but it was no problem. The food was 1st rate, all freshly cooked. We ordered in advance, but Hema gave us some good tips for extras to add on the night. I had the Dhall Puri to start, and the flavours were amazing, with a delicious split peas fillong wrapped in a soft flat bread. For the main i went for the fried Noodles. The name doesn't do it justice, it was sweet and smoky with fresh, tasty ingredients - an excellent dish. I have to say that everyone really enjoyed the evening, there were no complaints, which is unusual :). Thanks guys, I'm sure we'll be back.

I recently visited Flavour of Mauritius restaurant and tried their cappuccino, and I must say that it was one of the best cappuccinos I've ever had. The coffee was clearly of high quality, and the barista perfectly balanced the espresso, steamed milk, and foam to create a velvety smooth texture. The flavor was rich yet not overpowering, and the temperature was just right. The staff at this place is very friendly. Overall, I highly recommend trying the cappuccino at Flavour of Mauritius if you're a coffee lover looking for a delicious and well-crafted cup of coffee.

I pretty much turned up pretty on opening time. Very friendly staff and the food was great, excellent flavours. I even bought some spices from the spice counter and was given a recipe from the owner. Cooked my first La Daube last night and it was lush (obviously not as good as yours 😉) Will definitely be popping back in! Thanks guys.

It is a great little restaurant. We went there for lunch. We tried taro fritters and octopus rougaille, tasted fantastic. The lady serving us was super friendly which made us feel welcome and added a bit more to the experience. Definitely wanting to go back.

Me and my girlfriend had our 5 year anniversary here. I read the reviews and everyone said that the food was lovely. I can say that all these reviews were 100% correct. The food was amazing, I had the Dahl Puri starter and it was one of the best things ever, which she makes from scratch, as with everything. You can tell that everything was made fresh and homemade! We are definitely coming back and you should try if you haven't. They are very accommodating and the value for the quality of food is amazing!! Thank you very much for accommodating us. We will be back!

It is very rare I give 10 out of 10 for both service and quality of food. The food is authentic and exceptional and the service by Hema and the team is second to none. Very welcoming, friendly and attentive. As far as customer service goes this is the best i have experienced. I usually get a takeaway when I visit for work but will definitely sit in with a few friends and colleagues soon. The calming atmosphere and service with a smile will make you feel at home straight away. Highly recommended!

The service was 💯!! The waitress was very kind & made great suggestions. Really enjoyed the starters (cabbage fritters and chickpea fritters). My main (upside down bowl) was plain.. but wanted to be safe as I don't eat spicy food. I'll have to come back and choose something more adventurous! :-)
