Reminds me more of how pubs used to be back in 2000 ...pool tables , live bands , decent drinks. Would give 5 stars if they done a cocktail or two. Highlight for us tho is there pub dog who wanders around and does all kinds of tricks to get some of your food or crisps on our part. She made our night
Millie was just incredible- she was the only worker in the pub and managed to serve multiple people drinks whilst preparing our food. Everything was cooked well and tasted fresh, the drinks were also great and fairly priced. Honestly, Millie’s service was amazing and she deserves more recognition!

Went out on Friday evening with few friends and had an amazing evening . The staff were very coronial and add to that it’s a Friday free pool day. Love it his place in the midst of the hustle and bustle
Great place for students if your looking for a pub off campus. Fantastic pool table and community. Not as cheap as campus pubs but still reasonably priced and affordable. Food is fantastic! They offer 10% student discount too!
If you like burger or hot dog this is the pub for you
I was rather inebriated after being at the Palmer Park, House and garage orchestra Festival gig. So can't comment on a night there bit the time I was there was good.
Staff were friendly, music was good and an outside seating area was very much appreciated. 🙂🙂

Strange pub that looks like it should be a student pub but seemed to lack students. There are several pool tables Special deals on large quantities of beer and burgers. Not your usual pub at all. There seems to be a thing about the car park being a parking fine trap. If you're driving, check carefully. We were there to watch The Nine Mile Riders, a local band. I used to see them at The Broad Street Tavern in Wokingham. They played to packed houses there. But The Palmer Tavern on a Saturday night was quiet. No more than thirty people in a huge barn of a pub. The band were good but the place lacked any atmosphere. But I've only been there once. It could just have been a quiet night.
Good pub, keen prices. Lovely staff. Well kept beers. OK ish wines - not great but drinkeable. Vodka and gin choice very good.
Customers tend to be "locals".
Basic food _ burgers and hot dogs but well cooked.
Good pool table and good garden.
Big car park but you need to enter your car details on a tablet in the bar or penalty applies.
Clean. A million miles away from the College Arms which it used to be.
