(Visited 2022-03-19) We popped in for a quick pre-lunch pint (and a quick post-lunch pint afterwards) and found it to be a nice, bright pub. The garden is great when the weather is good. Definitely worth visiting again. Marked down a star because at the time of visit, the Gents was the smelliest place on Earth. Hopefully, that's been resolved by now!

Friendly little old pub. The jukebox is …charmingly broken so don’t be surprised if you end up hearing Bonnie Tyler’s Total Eclipse of the Heart on a loop or similar. Also quality pork scratching. Nice one.

Great pub that’s maintained a friendly and welcoming environment despite being in the thick of the town centre. Good scratchings too

Great selection of drinks, friendly staff and a surprisingly large outdoor area. They don’t do food but are happy for you to bring your own in which is a nice touch

So grateful for the moment I've spent there for our hen + stag party and for how welcoming the team is. Thank you again so much for answering our call and being so nice to us. We'll be back soon!

Oldest pub in Reading. Amazing selection of ales, beers, ciders. Old school inside with a good garden.

I recently visited the Allied Arms and had a fantastic experience! The beer selection was great, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The highlight for me was the lovely garden area, perfect for enjoying a drink in the sun. Overall, I highly recommend Allied Arms and can't wait to visit again!

Great little town centre pub with plenty of outdoor seating. Surprisingly good selection of bar snacks. My pint of Hullabaloo (from Loddon Brewery) went down very well indeed. Great.

Lovely little pub, the outside gazebos are brilliant when your out with a decent size group too. Only small gripe is that I was refused a second drink in there when doing a bar crawl through reading because we were on a stag do, in a very non rowdy group.

Went there for a few drinks on Friday night . Nice pub loads of seating out the back. Good range of beers, which change regular. Had Proper Job Cornish IPA.

Probably the best pub in Reading. The staff are always super welcoming and the garden is surprisingly big, perfect all year round as they have heaters. They always have a selection of good beers on tap and the pub quiz every other Wednesday is a must do if you're a local or just here for the evening.

Great pub with an excellent hidden garden. Not what you expect to find in the centre of Reading

It's very simple, local, comfortable. We went to the beer garden which is so much larger than you would expect, and there are enough flowers and little algae covered statues for deco, but not too much that would overwhelm.

Nice little secret garden in the back with heating when it’s a bit chilly. Standard pub selection of drinks I guess. Friendly service.
