This place has been my go to meal stop since one year. My family and I love the healthy freshly made authentic Indian food that they prepare.
The staff is very helpful and welcoming and they listens to your concerns very patiently. I love this place and would definitely recommend to anyone who are
Chole Bhature was awesome, malai kulfi was also tasty and got the Indian sweet pan as well. The Dosa was good and the size was big enough it was with tasty sambhar and chutney. Mango lasso was ok. Service was good. There parking is available outside but limited spots are available, but nearby other
Have tried the weekend lunch buffet and would highly recommend, there’s such good variety of unlimited food for only £9 a head. Plenty of vegetarian options although I have to say my favourite was the chilli chicken. It was fairly busy as well but the staff were great at topping up the food and were
Came here from a recommendation of a friend after recently coming back from my travels to India. First impressions were good, the place was well lit, vibrant and staff were quick to greet. As we were seated I was quickly thrown back to my time away by the aromas and easy listening Indian music. What
Really delicious, very fresh, high quality food, we had vegan dishes, all really lovely, good drinks (raspberry mojitos and fresh juices), relaxed atmosphere, very friendly staff, very clean washrooms, takeaway boxes heat sealed. Will 100% be back. Best curry/Indian food in Reading. Can’t believe it
We visited on a Friday evening at 7:45pm. The restaurant wasn't too crowded. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
Menu - Wide choice ranging between South Indian (Dosa, Idli, Utthapam etc.), North Indian (Veg & Non Veg curries), Rice, Breads, mouth smacking starters/snacks to suit all ages, India
Staff and quite friendly and service is quick. Buffets are available but we didn’t try that. South Indian food was ordered which was reasonable taste and good quality
Fantastic meal! Loved every bite and wish i could eat here every day. Had dosas, sambar, pepper mushrooms… still dreaming about it!
Decent place with minimum variety of lunch buffet but I found the food (biryani) as very dry. Chef and manager were quiet attentive and requested feedback for improvement. Hopefully it gets better and bigger in future.
My first visit to Vel was for the buffet breakfast on a Sat in Dec. Suffice it to say, I left 'very' unimpressed with 'no' desire to return.
However, decided to give the place another go and try their weekend lunch. I was pleasantly surprised! There was a wait for the food to be served but once done
Visited for the first time this weekend and had a very pleasant dinner. We ordered the meat sharing platter and the chilli chicken and the food was very nice.
The staff were also very friendly.
Will go back again to try other options.
We took a buffet on Sunday. For 5 pounds it's the best you can get. It's south Indian Tamil style. The rice sambar rasam are decent even chapatis were good to my surprise. Curry's and dessert could be better. Buttermilk was the highlight.
Amazing food. I just love South Indian Cuisine - particularly Masala Dosa and the Chicken Pepper fry. Took my sister there to introduce South Indian food for the first time and she loved it.
We've now been back a 2nd time and the service was lovely the food different but as good as preciously.
This Indian restaurant is situated right across 'Reading Hindu Temple'.
Ambiance is good also location is situated in prime corner.
Food is delicious however litle over budget.
Hospitality is also as good as food.
I had sweet corn soup and veg Biryani, both are equally good.
Will visit once again.
I can say this is a hidden gem in Reading. The staff here is extremely welcoming and always greets you with a smile. The ambience is superb. The food is excellent, always fresh. I am a big fan of breakfast buffet. Highly recommended..
