Bhel Puri House is a charming eatery that specializes in serving the popular Indian snack, Bhel Puri. Located in a bustling neighborhood, it offers a delightful culinary experience for lovers of Indian street food.
Upon entering Bhel Puri House, you are greeted by a lively and vibrant atmosphere. The interior is adorned with colorful decorations, creating a cheerful ambiance that immediately lifts your spirits. The staff members are friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist you in choosing from their extensive menu.
Food was very delicious, authentic, mouthwatering, good portion size and was served within minutes of ordering it. Staff members are good, hard working and helped me choose some of the dishes according to my taste. Staff are very busy and dedicated with work (serving, clearing tables etc) They don't talk much or are engrossed in work, but do answer questions nicely and do smile when approached with smile. We spoke with them nicely and they were nice to us too. We had to takeaway some of the food, as portion size was very generous. Although the restaurant area is small, we thoroughly enjoyed there.
I have ordered Indian ginger tea, hakka noodles and bhel Puri and it was amazing. Taste, quantity and quality all good. Highly recommended to visit there.
Fantastic quality, great flavours, reasonably priced. Prompt service and a very good variety of Indian Street Food. When asking for milder versions of dishes, it was a bit worrying that everything is pre-made and so could not be accommodated- query how fresh the dishes are. Limited seating area but a great pure vegetarian find.
Delicious little gem for those looking for authentic Indian food!
Everything was vegetarian and cooked to perfection.
Good spice level!
Awesome coffee.. One of the best Indian Coffee in Reading, I can say. Also, good collection of Indian sweets and 'chat' varieties. The Ginger tea is nice too, and the Kachori Dal is otherworldly stuff. Will visit many times again! :)
Would highly recommend the Bhel Puri Chaat, will definitely be back again for this. Would have given a 5 star if the service was better. Couldn't fault the food though, the most authentic Indian street food I have had locally. Visited again 6 years later and have revised my review to 5 star. Food was delicious, pani poori is one of the tastiest I’ve had and was very reasonably priced.
5⭐ for keeping the prices affordable and appropriate. Really appreciate the owner for not increasing the prices of the dishes. I thoroughly loved all my dishes. They were really great in taste. Service is pretty quick and staff is friendly. I visited twice in a day to try new dishes 🤩 Loved it
We ordered
1) aloo tiki chat
2) dahi puri
Tasted good but tasted very similar to each other.
Not bad 7/10
I think it's part of the Mercure George Hotel and yet it's tucked away in a separate side building.
It's fairly dark inside but sufficiently clean.
You have to place your order at the till and collect the cutlery, napkin, water jug and glass from the side counter.
The food is brought to your table when ready. The menu is mostly popular street food dishes which is authentic and flavoursome. They also provide a takeaway service.
There is a selection of prepacked snacks and sweets available for takeaway.
Sometimes they have Indian Bollywood music playing in the background but it lacks the ambience and a warm welcome from the staff.
The price is reasonable. Bhel Puri House is within easy access from the Oracle.
Lovely place for some light bites. Amazing Indian snacks - can be customised as per your taste (more or less spicy). Lots of veg options. They've recently introduced vegan options too both in snacks and desserts. Worth trying. Kid friendly - lovely smoothies and shakes.
Good Indian street food. Chilli paneer is definitely one of the best I have had. All other food is good and full of flavour.
Only downside is restaurant closes early at 8pm.
