Went with family for a dinner. Indian food served with Kerala taste and spices. And they serve Halal meat. Nice ambience. Easy to identify from even heavy traffic.Nice and small restaurant with ample seating.
Typical Kerala food !! Enjoyed every bit of Kappa(tapioca)biriyani and Kappa with fish curry was awesome. I tried
Beef fry and beef ularthiyath. Both were excellent but I expected beef fry bit more dry than ularthiyath. Both went well with traditional appam. Kids also enjoyed appam and fish curry.
Kappa biriyani (mutton) was pure tradition blend. Thalassery biriyani was not dum but rice was khaima small rice.Since we were in Thalassery before and tasted authentic one before , biriyani was not as expected, but was not bad. Kerala porotta was nice with beef.Masala tea was so good. Tried a mango lassi as well , and lassi was superb.
What I felt fantastic was the serving speed . Never seen a hotel in Uk serving that quick. Very friendly and polite staff. Very pocket friendly restaurant. Will definitely visit again.
Parking in the front of the shop is paid parking for 2 hours.
Loved everything about the restaurant. Highly recommended for anyone looking for Indian restaurant in UK.
Awesome food, worth every penny, great service and friendly staff. Would highly recommend for an authentic kerala cuisine experience.
Decent Indian cuisine restaurant. Most of dishes are adjusted for accommodating a larger audience, so not exactly authentic. Also lack of staff makes a longer waiting time. But overall a good experience and some of the dishes are very tasty.
Absolutely fabulous meal last night, the Tandoori Mixed Grill in particular was just excellent, best one I've ever had.. Staff are lovely people... Will DEFINITELY be back !
Good Kerala restaurant. Not that crowded. Order kappa biriyani which is good and thalassery mutton biriyani. Mutton biriyani is not bad but it's not authentic thalassery biriyani. ambience and service is great.
Good service and ambience.
Appetizers: Average, one of the appetizer we took tasted like McCain frozen snack. Hara bhara kababs had loads of artificial green coloring.
Main course: Kerala parota was really good. Pepper paneer chettinad was very good. Jeera rice was also decent.
They need to improve on appetizers.

We were a group of 8 people & we liked most of the items we ordered. The must try item would be the Kerala chicken fry from the starter which was juicy inside & crispy outside. We tried fish molly which was well made. 1 item which disappointed me was the thalassery mutton biriyani which was not up to the mark.we tried thalassery chicken biriyani which was better than mutton biriyani but it was just okay.
We liked the beef kappa biriyani which was very good.overall very satisfied with the experience as most of the items tasted authentic Kerala dish.
I have dined at Pappadams on many occasions, mostly enjoying the Pepper Chicken Chettinadu with Jeera Pulao.
On each of my visits I was made to feel very welcome and the food was excellent.
The curry had an excellent balanced flavour and the rice was seasoned very well with a coriander garnish and a little ghee making it slightly different from usual and giving it an interesting and enjoyable flavour.
Pappadams has become my favourite Indian restaurant in Reading and I look forward to returning when I am next in the area. If you've read this far and you're thinking of visiting, I'd highly recommend it (and the Chettinadu/Jeera dish).
Small restaurant with a nice menu, very friendly staff and the food was spot on. Smelled fantastic. Full of flavour. Just the right amount. Exactly what we were hoping for.
Ordered a takeaway from the store.
Fish molee was divine.
Erachi puttu was on point.
Kappa biryani was right on target hitting all the taste buds.
Happy eating.
We have had a good dinner just then. Fantastic food and great service.
Fish curry and Nan bread are the most favorite for us !!
: )
Dinner was delicious. met our expectation. would visit again.
Tasty Southern Indian and Kerala cuisine, warm, cosy place. Busy specially in the evenings given its popularity. Sumptuous, decent portion sizes. Service was excellent but could be a bit faster. Reasonable prices. Credit cards accepted.
Amazing food. We go here for fish and it tastes great. Fish in banana leaf is excellent and so is Goan curry and Travancore fish curry. Although the fish in banana leaf is sold as Pompret, it is not Indian pompret... little bit of disappointment there but the taste made up for it.
We found the Kerala paratha bit oily but the tandoori roti was excellent... overall great food and will come again.
Thalassery chicken biryani was awesome with good quantity, served with raita, pappadam and pickle. Service is average.
