The Corn Stores is an upmarket eatery on Forbury Road in Reading. I've been here a couple times now and will go again. The food is really very good. Specialty is the steak. This is a more expensive place to eat but you get what you pay for and the venue itself is very funky/chic. The staff are friendly, welcoming and attentive. Try the strawberry's and cream cocktail, this is an olfactory phenomenon. Initial hit of sugary sweet followed by an in mouth inversion into a rich cream. A very odd sensation but so good. The steaks are very good, if anything they undercook them so ask for a how you want it done one level above what you would normally (or talk to the staff, they can always cook more if underdone but can't undo overdone). Yes. Really cool venue. Really good food. A treat for your partner. Recommended.
One of the best little known gems in Reading. Whilst the menu is mostly stake, the enoki mushrooms are amazing and should not be missed by veggies. The wine and cocktail list is extensive but expertly curated.
Best fine dining venue in reading, what more can you ask for. Food is incredible and spot on. Drink and cocktails are just perfect. I’ve been here a few times now. Everything we have had phenomenal service from Jay and his team. Mel running the bar and floor was one of best I’ve seen in the industry. I would highly recommend her S’more cocktail was a delight
Great food, the steak even though it was a cheaper cut could be cut with a fork. Great cocktails too.

Absolutely delicious food in a warm and comfortable setting. The starter of beef tartare was excellent, and the main course of pork belly is great. Pricing is reasonable. Definitely recommend.
had the loveliest meal here on wednesday night, was served by rachel who honestly couldn’t do enough for us, she was so friendly and kind and made our meal so special! we had the 1kg tomahawk steak to share which was superb value and absolutely delicious - was a gorgeous meal all in all and will definitely be back soon!!
I was there for a business lunch with a speaker. I have some allergies, so normally I'm quite embarrassed by what is provided (everyone else has a normal meal and I get some cheese and GF crackers or something mental), but my meal was absolutely beautiful and very similar in style to everyone else's. The other attendees commented on how tasty their meals were and how nicely plated. Would def recommend.
Excellent service and food. We were a group of ~100 and the service was exemplary. Everyone got their dishes at the same time, the food came quickly and it was a very professional, efficient operation.
Lovely lunch with friends on a Monday. Food, wine and service outstanding. One couple were visiting from Australia and this was a highlight of their UK +IRL trip.
No hesitation in recommending.

This has been such a lovely experience! From welcoming at the door through the whole dinning time up until the leaving, we felt welcomed and taken care of. The food and drinks have been exceptionally tasty and well presented. And we enjoyed the ambient atmosphere as well. We will be back, thank you !

Great atmosphere, modern and stylish restaurant. The customer service is exceptional, and nothing was too much effort. The Corn Stores is perfect for having meetings, having a lovely meal, and having drinks to relax at the end of the day. It's walking distance from Reading train station, which makes it super handy. I would highly recommend it!!
We had a family celebratory lunch here and were very well treated. The menu is not extensive, but there are some good options for all tastes. The staff were effective and friendly, and the ambiance in this old building is lovely. I used to visit this place under different ownership several years ago, and what is on offer now is at least as good. It is also conveniently located a stone's throw from Reading Station with excellent connections in all directions.

The Corn Stores has redefined food for me. My husband and I visited for our second anniversary as advised by Google (best restaurants to visit for your anniversary in reading). We ordered the bbq tiger prawns and beef tartar for starters. Fillet and bauvette from the grill menu, and two portions crispy landaise potato. And to end the night we ordered the torched pavlova and lemon tart for dessert.
The succulent prawns was a refreshing start to my evening. When our main dish arrived our expectations continued to be exceeded, the tender steak was oozing with flavour. The steak was also cooked to the requested temperature. The potato was filled with flavour and had great consistency. The tiny bits of bacon proved to be the perfect complement for the potatoes. The mains were followed by The Torched pavlova and lemon tart. The pavlova was creamy yet, crunchy, yet spongey. Admittedly, the first spoon left me wildly confused, the combination of flavours and textures were deliciously satisfying.
The cocktails reminded me of the Caribbean bursting with flavour. I ordered a Berkshire Bakewell and 10 Forbury Road. My husband ordered the evolutionist, this cocktail is not for the faint at heart.
To sum it up, the food was Delicious!!!
The atmosphere at the restaurant was relaxed. The staff were welcoming. At the end of the evening, we were planning on our next visit.
A bit expensive for the quality of food. Avoid the weird focaccia but do try the excellent steak tartare!
Went here after reading the reviews and I must say we were not disappointed. Right from entering the restaurant, we were greeted really well and they even made space to store the 2 prams that we had. The lady that looked after us was really pleasant and courteous and ensured that we had a great experience. The food is simply amazing and I would definitely recommend going for the steak as your mains. It was cooked as per our specification and our entire group of 6 were very happy with the food. It's slightly on the expensive side but would definitely recommend for a special occasion. And great ambience too!
The best restaurant in Reading at the moment. We're coming here often to treat ourselves to excellent food, tasty drinks and a relaxed/warm atmosphere. The staff members are very friendly and very attentive making our experience even better.

We had a family birthday meal here and it was exceptional. The atmosphere was amazing, the service was perfect and the food was above and beyond. The staff made it extra special for my boyfriends birthday and we walked out there very very very happy customers.
Great fine dining but very much a restaurant interested in providing a high end meat experience. Recommend going if you aren't vegetarian as the vegetarian options were quite limited but everyone around me enjoyed their stakes. Wonderful desserts though.
