Lovely dog friendly pub! Food freshly made and delicious! Staff friendly and helpful! Would recommend!
What a wonderful place, highly recommend the Sunday lunch it was excellent
Stopped off here at the end of a soggy walk last week as we were camping nearby. Very welcoming, warm and friendly. Even the dog was made welcome 🐾 Had the most amazing cheese and onion pie with mash, peas and gravy and a fantastic pudding. Beer was excellent, staff were lovely, pub was gorgeous.
We came here for a meal, as we were staying locally for a wedding the next day. The staff and food were top notch, best pie and mash I've had in years and they even served Sheffield's finest Henderson's relish!
5 star luxury in a delightful Cumbrian village for reasonable prices. I stayed for 3 nights. The Owner and his staff bent over backwards to be hospitable, professional and accommodating. Great local ales on tap, produce sourced thoughtfully from local purveyors and turned into wonderful food. The kippers in the morning were sensational. A warm, brilliant oasis in what was a wet December week. Highly recommend it to all.
Above and beyond with the room , so clean , food nothing to complain about fantastic food cooked fresh , and the pub is very friendly and would highly recommend
Great service and atmosphere. Pool table £1 to use and kept teenage children busy. Good food too.

Stopped at the Kings Head for just one night whilst walking the Dales High Way. The room that i stayed in was a double and was comfortable enough for one but it would’ve been a little crowded for two. Had fish & chips in the restaurant which were excellent and so was the breakfast the following day. The place was tidy and well kept.
Phenomenal stay, completely last minute booking. Would highly recommend from the service to the food and a brilliant value for money room too
So glad we stayed here. Cannot fault anything. It's the place we'd love to be 'Snowed In' as it was so welcoming. Food, Atmosphere, Service and Staff were amazing. Can't wait to return.
