We booked for afternoon tea and all my wishes were met. We had a lovely table with a fantastic view. Everything was spotless clean in the restaurant, public areas and toilets. The afternoon tea was lovely. The only thing missing was : it did say on the menu sausage rolls but they were not included but it did say that the contents can vary so that is fair enough. Maybe there should have been an alternative though. All hot drinks were included. The conference and banqueting assistant who was from Italy was very friendly and professional as was the waitress from Romania. They are two fantastic members of staff who are a credit to Ravenhall. You don't find many like these two nowadays. Lovely atmosphere. I hope things don't change too much with the new ownership of the hotel and it would be a shame to change the hotel's name after so many years. We will come back in a few years to see what changes have been made. I know this property from the 80's when i used to work there.
Beautiful place and lovely surroundings.
Also brilliant that they accept dogs.
Had a lovely relaxing night there. Room OK but clean. Very good breakfast. Will definitely get a room with sea view next time. Loved our stay and would recommend.
Outstanding service from walking in to leaving.
Staff absolutely fantastic and couldn't do more for us.
Food out of this world.
We don't normally leave reviews but we really felt we should commend your beautiful hotel.
We came last week in February and the weather was baltic, but your 2 gardeners were working tending the flower beds and litter picking, even crawling under hedges picking litter. What a credit they are to you. As are the bar staff and waiting staff. Made to feel they enjoyed serving you and not just another customer. Will get a sea view next time we visit. Rooms immaculately clean so a big thank you to the cleaning staff as well. Thank you
A lovely hotel which has everything you might need: clean and tidy rooms; a beautiful dining room with views across to Robin Hood's Bay; tennis courts and swimming even a swimming pool!
We went for the weekend and really enjoyed the breakfast, the walk along the Cleveland Way and it was perfect for the dog too who enjoyed how quiet it was. The views and grounds really are spectacular.
Our wedding at Raven Hall in July 2023 was STUNNING. The venue, perched on a clifftop, provided a gorgeous backdrop with breathtaking views of the sea. We had our ceremony on the lawn with the sea in the background. We were challenged with some rather windy weather, but the sun and views more than made up for it!
The hotel staff were incredibly accommodating, allowing us to set up the night before, significantly easing our stress on the big day. The food was another highlight - delicious and varied, with a wide selection for both the meal itself and in the evening.
We were delighted that our dog could participate in the ceremony, although, understandably, he was unable to join us for the meal. The evening reception was held in the Great Hall, an alternative location for the ceremony in case of inclement weather. It was covered in gorgeous fairy lights, adding a magical touch to our evening reception.
The responsiveness and support of the staff, particularly Ben and Amy, were commendable. Amy was prompt in responding to my emails leading up to the day, and Ben was incredibly helpful on the day itself, and on the venue meeting a few weeks before.
Raven Hall is a fantastic and affordable venue - the photos do not do it justice! Our wedding day was truly unforgettable, and we couldn’t recommend the venue more highly. We had some absolutely outstanding photos that really encapsulate our magical day!
Attended an evening wedding reception and although the hotel is undergoing some renovations, and the wedding rooms weren't as booked, it all was wonderful. The service from the staff was great, there was not one grumpy member of staff, they were helpful, they smiled and they chatted to us. We woke up to a seaview and enjoyed a scrummy breakfast. Loved our stay, thank you!
But agree, the hotel name should not change, it will always be the Raven hotel ❤️
The room is pretty basic. No soundproof so you can hear squeaky noises and people talking next door or upstairs.
The view out of the window is stunning.
Shower is ok. Water keeps turning hot and cold so you have to keep adjusting it.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
Having carried out some work at the site on Friday, I was stunned at the location, and decided to visit for Sunday Lunch today.
The food and service was fantastic, thank you for a great experience, we are looking forward to returning again
Called in on the off chance we could get out of the wind and cold. Possibly even get a hot drink. We were met with cheerful smiles and looked after very well. We even scored a lovely afternoon tea.
Recommended.
Gorgeous location, stunning hotel with breathtaking views across Robin Hoods Bay. My partner proposed to me here on the battlements and we subsequently got married here. It was a perfect day and the staff were all as amazing as ever! The bay rooms and lodges are especially gorgeous, the food is to die for and the area is rich in interesting history. There's a spa, swimming pool, golf course, tennis courts and croquet all on site and it's located on Cleveland way, popular with cyclists and walkers. A short drive away there's Scarborough, Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby and the moors. We are so glad we chose such a perfect location to marry so we have an excuse to visit every anniversary ❤️
