Real nice feel to this country pub. Food is top notch, loads of flavour and well presented. Good value for money as all ingredients are local. The staff are always really friendly and helpful. The whole set up is great for family lunch. Beautiful outside space and nice and quiet with lots of seating. Loads of parking outside.
Popped in for a drink on the way down the A38. Very nice old pub. Start nearly 1000years ago. The local homemade cider was amazing. Sat outside in the sunshine under a big canvas umbrella. Lovely gardens in a quiet village. Well worth a visit. Didn't order any food, but the menu did look good. I'd recommend this pub every time. Lovely, peaceful church yard next door as well.
What a find !
On the road to Cornwall and we stumbled across the Rattery Church house Inn as we were hungry.
We received a lovely welcome and we were accommodated with a table in the restaurant. The food was superb, great varied choice for all, and the service was attentive, caring but not overpowering, just a nice experience.
Thanks to the staff and the Chef for making this a nice surprise.
I thought I had booked a bar table for just three of us, and so I was slightly disappointed to be placed in the dining area. Don't get me wrong, this is fine for large groups or summer daytime lunches, but it's not the same as the atmosphere in the bar. All else was great. Food and vegetarian options were all excellent, as is their selection of local beers and their choice of smiley courteous staff.
The conservatory a great addition, lovely feel to it. Staff friendly and informative. Food fantastic. Free level parking outside. Beautiful village setting. Will definitely go back.
Would like the ravioli to be made with vegetarian cheese and not labelled v with Parmesan.
Another fabulous outing to the hidden gem that is the Church House Inn.
Will and his team go above and beyond to make it more than just a place to eat. The menu variety was just outstanding and it was a real struggle to pick from so many mouth watering options.
We both opted for the steaks as we had heard good things and wanted to see what all the hype was about. Now as a self certified meat snob, I can honestly say it was the best steak I have had for a very long time. Cooked to perfection with a beautiful texture that just melted in your mouth. Makes a nice change coming to a pub that clearly knows what they are doing with exceptional local produce. Will definitely be back soon.
If I could pick the inn to be near where I live this would be in the top 5.
As we walked in to the establishment we were actually greeted a wonderful looking traditional English bar, long and well stocked.
After exchanging greetings with a member of staff we found ourselves a table for 5, there was a table for 8 so a large party should be ok, just let the staff know before turning up.
The menu, a good amount of choices and very nice.
Drinks, a big list of wines, beers etc.
Seating, comfortable.
Lighting, those with sight issues should be ok.
Background music, a good mix and not too loud.
The staff. Ever staff member I talked to was so nice, it was like talking to a family member.
Would I go back, definitely. 😀
Photos? I forgot my phone. 😆
Gorgeous pub, nice atmosphere and a cosy fire. There are tables near the bar for drinks, plus two dining areas for meals. We had a delicious dinner and the service was fantastic. This was our first visit and certainly won't be our last. Highly recommend.
Fabulous historic building, excellent service and really delicious food, well worth seeking out.
7 of us had dinner here to celebrate a birthday last night. Service was great, the food was brilliant and loved the choices available....being a vegetarian and coeliac - usually it's not so simple! Beautifully presented and each course tasted amazing. Service was friendly and attentive and if I lived closer we would eat here regularly!
Thankyou, we will be back soon
