A fantastic mother's day meal, enjoyed in comfort. Today was our second visit and once again we weren't disappointed. We popped in for coffee after a walk on the nearby Ranworth Broad and being Mother's day expected it to be full. Despite all tables being booked for lunch the staff found somewhere we could sit indoors and we had enough time before the reservation to stay for some lunch. Being an ambulant wheelchair user they positioned me near an entrance and there was somewhere undercover for my wheelchair, there is also a radar key disabled toilet opposite the pub. The pub served excellent food in a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were all friendly and welcoming and there is a fantastic array of food and drinks available. We will definitely be returning.
We love it here! Sadly the kitchen was still closed so didn’t have a full menu but we got a pizza and it was absolutely delicious. We always come here when we visit the broads! Dog friendly and lovely staff too!!
Nice pub on the Norfolk Broads. Even better in the sunshine. Very nice pizzas
Excellent place we have stopped and eaten here many times food always good and the staff friendly. They sell Doombar which my other says makes it an OK pub. I have had pizza here in the past however they will start this again the following week. My partner had sausage and mash and was perfect.. I tried the slow cooked lamb shank and mash. Extremely tasty, slight downside was too much gravy! The gravy I think had a tadge too much wine. But it was still tasty.
Warm and friendly welcome from the staff. Nice interior, slightly let down by the state of the toilets (cracked tiles on floors and walls and a bit smelly).
Large beer garden. Had a few pints with friends and shared a bowl of chips when we stopped to explore during our boat trip.
Would like to return to try the pizzas when the oven is open (assume in season?) or the main menu, as other food looked delicious.
Really decent food. Absoloutly amazing for familys with dogs. Sea food platter is for more than 2 people! Just wish we knew it was all cold. Chips are amazing! Staff really friendly
Didn't eat but stopped for a drink. Beautiful pub in a beautiful setting. Pub has a menu and also an outdoor pizza area, with plenty of space to sit inside and out. Right on Panxworth Broad and RSPB reserve, which is perfect to walk off a pint.
Came here twice in one day (once at lunch time and then again later in the evening). Visited while on a 7 day boating holiday. Such a nice friendly atmosphere here, the burger and chips were delicious. I drank San Miguel and later in the evening, came back for drinks outs again and dish of chips, then sticky toffee pudding with Ice Cream. Great quantities and quality.
Service is not timed right though with serving meals, just wish they would time the food so that we would all be eating at near enough the same at our table. There were 4 of us and 2 people's dinners arrived first then 5 minutes later someone else and last mine took the longest 10 minutes while everyone had nearly finished their dinner and was on to their second drink.
If I'm ever back in the area, I'll come here again.
When we visited it was raining very hard. It made it a little bit dismal outside but the pub food was very welcome! You can order pizza for delivery from outside, or you can order directly from the menu. I really enjoyed my burger and it was quite good value. Lasagne was also popular! The were quite a lot of people who were visiting from their boats as there is a nearby marina. There were also people camping in the car park in camper vans so it was a lovely community atmosphere. Staff were friendly enough.
During our holiday on the Norfolk Broads, my family and I had the pleasure of visiting The Maltster pub on its opening day. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality by the staff, setting the tone for a wonderful experience.
The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement, and it was evident that the team had put in a lot of effort to ensure everything ran smoothly. Despite it being their opening day, the service was impeccable, and the staff were incredibly friendly, adding to the welcoming ambiance.
Although the menu was limited to pizzas on the day of our visit, we were blown away by the quality of the food. The stone-baked pizzas from their pizza house were simply outstanding – easily the best I've had in a very long time. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and the freshness of the ingredients was evident.
What truly stood out was the personal touch from the new owner, who took the time to come over to our table for a chat. It was evident that he was genuinely passionate about the pub and ensuring that guests had a memorable experience. His presence and interaction with customers added to the charm of The Maltster.
Overall, our visit to The Maltster pub exceeded our expectations. With its friendly staff, great atmosphere, and delicious food, it's evident that this is a proper pub with a bright future ahead. I wish the new owner and his team the best of luck, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
We went out for my birthday, we saw the Maltsters online and thought we would give it a try.
You have to want go there to find it, but it is worth the trip!
It looks great its in a great location, the staff are great and the food too.
Its not pretentious fiod, proper pub fare, scampi, burgers, fish and chips but it is well cooked and there is plenty of it!
I had a burger, it was home made and honest, coukd have done with some more seasoning fir my taste but it was great, the onion rings were nit greasy and the chips were good.
My lady had the Scampi and again, nicely cooked with Tartar sauce and chips.
Outside is a lovely covered area and plenty of soace for dining alfresco.
Loads of parking, ckean toilets and across the road from the Broads.
What a find.
