Nice cosy pub. Good selection of bar snacks in the evening including sandwiches and pickled eggs.
Another hidden gem in Ramsbottom. Probably best known by the locals as it's at the tip of a steep hill or halfway down a walk from the Shoulder of Mutton. They have just opened up their bowling green as a tremendous beer garden. Huge. Beautiful views.
Probably has the best beer garden in England. A disused bowling green with tables/parasols and a fantastic view of the hills all round. There are also animals in well tended large cages, rabbits, ducks, geese, Guinness pigs, budgies etc
absolutely great for kids, room to run around without annoying
No food but very friendly & helpful. Thwaite's ales well kept
What a fantastic beer garden, great for kids and dogs.👍
Great local pub. Beer garden is fantastic
Cosy and welcoming. A real gem of a pub.
Attend the monthly open mic night and always a great atmosphere
Brilliant new years eve...brilliant atmosphere. ..friendly staff. ..lovely and clean and an added bonus a great band rocked us into the new year 😊😊
Went to watch a band on Saturday 14th September with friends.
What a lovely pub this is! The landlord & landlady were so welcoming and friendly.
Everywhere was clean including the ladies wc. Nice friendly atmosphere & good bar prices.
They even brought out a free supper! Which was an excellent home
Lovely pub. Has a bowling green at the back with great views. Owners Paul and Julie made us very welcome. All the members of my ukulele club were mightily impressed.
Dog friendly and people friendly, nice place to visit.
New landlord and landlady the pub is up and running Thursday 11th August lot's of effort been put into it the locals will love it get yourselves in and give it a try you won't be disappointed
Friendly staff, good beer. Great log burner! Fun night with Claire Louise and karaoke
A fine local pub serving a wide selection of ales and other drinks and also with a good daily food menu. It is available for all functions but particularly for crown green bowls days out on the bowling green to the rear of the pub.
Its an old school pub. When the roaring fire is on, with the Sunday lunch. Bliss.
In summer there is a bowling green out the back which you can hire their bowls for a few quid.
Honestly in summer go up the green with a cold cider or pint, sit in quiet surroundings and soak up the sun.
Warm and welcoming on a cold winter afternoon with a real fire and good beers. Although did not eat the Sunday roast looked good too.
Great pub, warm welcome and the owners and staff are friendly. Can't wait to gig here again. Thanks for having us.
New family just taken over but showing all the right attitude to be successful in a local pub.
