Enjoyed their Fish Friday meal. Excellent value for money. £13.50 for fish, chips, mushy peas, tartar sauce with a glass of house red. I also added their mushroom and stilton sauce for an extra few pounds and it was worth it. Delicious food set in lovely grounds.

I am French and very fuzzy when eating out. We have been to "The Fisherman's Retreat" restaurant sevral times. Never disappointed. The food is excellent and delicious. My son had the T bone steak, cooked to perfection. Staff are so attentive and very pleasant. My hubby ordered a large ice cream for desert. A mistake was made but rectified straight away by two icecreams 🥰. The views from the restaurant are beautiful. A lovely place to relax. ❤

I’ve been to the Fishermans Retreat back in 2019 but didn’t eat, had some nice Whisky’s! Been meaning to go back for 4 years and yesterday I did. We had the Black pudding and scallops for starters (minus the Chorizo) I had the regular sized Sunday dinner for mains (I’m glad I didn’t order the large as I wouldn’t have managed it - the regular is ample) my BF had the Lamb 5 ways and said it was delicious. If your looking for a perfectly hidden and serene venue along with delicious food, it’s the perfect venue.

A sterling dinning experience at a charming restaurant. A rustic but modern atmosphere, a well stocked bar, helpful and friendly service. Great value menu and excellent food. Two veggie options on the menu, cheese and onion pie and Mediterranean vegetable wellington. I opted for the latter and really enjoyed it. The drive up is a bit of a trek from the main road but the views and remote feel are worth it. Unfortunately I was driving so didn't get to taste the whiskies, also didn't have the wallet to take a bottle home but did grab a couple of bottles of whisky flavoured beer to enjoy at home. I will be venturing over again at some point in the future.

Visited for Sunday lunch. Haven't been for many years, as I live away, but better than ever!

Lovely Mother’s Day meal. I had a cheese and onion pie with chips and a selection of vegetables- this came to £15. Then I ordered the cheesecake with ice cream which again was lovely. This came to around £9.50 if I’m not mistaken. They were accommodating to a change in meal for a little one and the roast dinners looked lovely for £14- which is only £1.50 more than Toby carvery and a whole tastier. I then took my little boy to look at the fish which he enjoyed

Passed a sign on road and remembered going not long after it opened years ago. The road is a bit windey but beautiful setting high up overlooking Ramsbottom. Staff welcoming, beer fine, v.good menu. Had mince & onion plate pie followed by Bakewell Tart & custard. Perhaps more of a venue than a pub - bit posh foe me! Worth a visit.

Haddock and chips is VERY good 👍 tried my fiancées cheese and onion pie, and that was stunning 😍 service is impeccable, though the restaurant was quiet, the restaurant itself and the location is beyond beautiful. we're definitely coming here again.

Just had the most delicious fish&chips here. Quick and very friendly service, great atmosphere and a lovely location away from it all, with fabulous views. We had the Friday deal of fish, chips, peas, tartare sauce and a glass of red or white wine all for £13.50 each. Excellent value for money. We will return!

Portion sizes were small, especially considering the price, however the food was nice. There were lots of large tables in which slowed service down considerably. The bakewell tart apparently had homemade jam in it.... I think they must have been running low on supplies as I could barely see or taste the jam in my slice. The ice cream was yummy and we bought some to bring home.
