The horse and jockey has been my local for many years,friendly staff and the people are great. The food has always been really lovely and I've never had any complaints with the food.saturday night I had the strawberry pavlova with cream and ice cream,I defo recommend having this xx
Brilliant country pub, lovely atmosphere and made to feel very welcome.. food is to die for... perfect.. can't go wrong with this place.. children with learning disabilities and special needs are accommodated to a very high standard and no judgements made, overall a lovely place to go. Will definitely be back.
Booked a table on the 14th may for a family meal, it was absolutely lovely great food excellent service all round and it was extremely busy that Monday evening as they had a last minute booking of twenty, so they were rushed off there feet bless them. But as usually everything was as good as ever. Huge thanks to Nikki and the team. � We even went back on the Thursday evening as we didn't get time for pudding on Monday as it was late, so once again had a lovely meal great service and a beautiful pudding � yummy. Always recommend the jockey to everyone. Keep up the excellent service guys. Totally awesome ���
I'm a massive food critic when it comes to eating out, last night I visited here with a friend and I ordered the lasagna with chips and salad and I polished the entire plate off. It was "THE BEST" lasagna I've ever had out and the chips were fab as they weren't coated in flour. Perfect meal and would 100% be going back and highly recommending. 10/10
tried here for a roast today, couldn’t fault it! staff were so lovely and although rushed off their feet they were all very smiley, friendly and attentive. Landlady assisted us with drinks to our table as i was struggling carrying a baby! great customer service, fantastic meal & friendly atmosphere! would definitely return in the future and also recommend to our friends and family! ��
So pleased that we discovered this little gem last year. Have eaten here lots of times now and taken friends and family along as well - and they all love it too! The roast dinner on a Sunday is excellent, the deserts huge and the fish and chips are some of best we've ever had.
Fantastic atmosphere! They have a great team working there, the Land lord and land lady are so welcoming! The food is brilliant so glad to have this gem of a pub in our life xx Well worth a visit and you will be wanting to go back

Lovely meal I had with my family on my 70th birthday
We were a party of 18 and the meals came out very quickly with no problems thanks to all the staff for the wonderful welcome to us all

What a lovely restraunt fantastic attentative happy staff, we had Sunday lunch the lamb dinner my wife had was fantastic she commented best lamb she has eat in years, my large four meats roast was fantastic however the pork was a bit dry and no crackling, the veg was awesome best crispy roasters ever lovely tasty peas really nice tasty carrots, nice yorkshire puds, homemade not aunt Bessie's the cauliflower cheese was fantastic absolutely awesome, the wife's apple crumble and custard however was tasteless, overall a very well deserved and respectable four stars well done we will definitely be back.
A homely pub with giant food portions, plenty usual faces and unusual interior design 😂. Seriously, the cheesecake is to die for, chips are the best in somerset (really) and the lasagne is brilliant. Returned to here a few times now, and they do really well. Had a roast recently; beef was a tad dry but everything else was tasty and aptly portioned. Thanks!

Reasonable prices so all in all a winner. Place was booked but they squeezed us into the bar area at fairly short notice. Nice friendly pub with good food and staff.

I arrived at 6pm opening time and ordered a steak with peppercorn sauce and have to say it was one of the best pub meals I have eaten.
Within a half hour the place was buzzing, I overheard the lady behind the bar saying they were already fully booked and this on a Thursday night and very large premises, says it all, what better recommendation can you get.
Would definitely return.

A hidden gem tucked away. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Did not eat, however, will definitely be back for food as what I saw looked and smelt great.
Went for a drive around today and ended up stopping for lunch. So much choice on the menu and such friendly staff. Fantastic prices. We will definitely be visiting again
Absolutely excellent meal with incredible service. We were attending a friends wedding reception nearby and needed somewhere to eat with our 2 year old and friends nearby before the reception. Due to the timings of the reception, we really struggled to find a pub to accommodate us. Nikki the landlady went above and beyond when I contacted her to ask if we could book a table. She was kind enough to keep the kitchen open for us from their lunch hours and made us feel so welcome. The food was delicious and we cannot thank all the staff enough for going above and beyond for us. In particular, one of the bar staff who my toddler took an immediate liking too. Being very nosey, he wanted to see behind the bar and she was wonderful letting him help her put some bottles in the bottle bin and making him feel useful. Would absolutely recommend this place to others and will definitely be sure to visit in the future if we are back in the area 😊
