The Mash Inn provided the most idyllic setting for my partners birthday celebration. Views of rolling hills, a garden of fresh produce bursting with life and red kites soaring overhead - English countryside at its best.
The rooms are minimalist luxury with gorgeous features like the slipper bath and glass tea service and you can still see the view from the bed, a huge bonus!!! (Room 2)
The menu is fine fresh produce, cooked just enough to make the flavours really sing and the lobster is a must try - grilled on their open fire range and presented on a heaped plate with potatoes pulled from the earth just spitting distance from the table.
The icing on the cake (or rather the Toasted Apricots and Woodruff ice cream!) is the service, just flawless. The staff were genuinely passionate, knowledgable, engaged and provided the warmest of welcomes. Cannot thank them enough.
We enjoyed a warm welcome with relaxed professional staff in an equally warm pub with the smell of their coal fire burning. We also enjoyed a nice pint of ale before enjoying a great dining experience with lots of great tasting food. A great pub in a great setting.
One word... FANTASTIC! Didn’t even look at the tasting menu before we ordered yet every single dish was exceptional, even if I’d never have ordered it from a menu myself. Already booked 3 more visits before we left! All of the staff were charismatic, attentive and engaging. If you appreciate good food then you have to visit!
Just the place to come on the weekend to relax in the countryside and have an amazing dinner experience and stay the night in luxury. We couldn't have been made more welcome by Nick Mash and his staff. Jon Parry treated us to some of the best food I have ever eaten. Breakfast in the room was a wonderful treat, all homemade.

Nestled in the Chilterns the setting could not be more magical. Then you walk in and are greeted as if you have arrived at friends for dinner...smell of the wood burner and then you are presented with the kitchen for all to see. Service, staff, food, place full of 5 star qualities. Need to book our next visit.
A great wholesome country pub, easy to get to from London, with outstanding food and service that makes you feel like your staying with friends. The accommodation is excellent and we loved the breakfast in bed touch. (home made granola, turmeric ginger beer and freshly baked croissants) Every detail has been thoughtfully considered. Top this off with a breathtaking view from our room. I can't fault it. A must, to check out and bring your friends. Thanks guys for a fantastic weekend!
Beautiful building and setting with country views for miles. Ample parking, great service, friendly knowledgeable staff and spectacular food. We had the tasting menu which was full of surprises and delicious. We stayed over night in one of their gorgeous rooms with a small lounge. A fantastic visit; we will definitely return.

We had an enchanting dinner at the Mash Inn last night. The food was awesome, and the service was stellar! One of our favorite meals ever. Definitely worth a pilgrimage! We will be back! �

Brilliant response to Covid limitations, lovely dining room set up in a tent outside with heaters and blankets to cope with the vagaries of the weather. "The long and lovely lunch is exactly that, 7 or 8 courses all inventive and beautifully designed served leisurely over 5 hours. Especially loved the scallop and the asparagus and the homemade rhubarb gin, this is a real treat 😋

Impeccable and inventive food, without overbearing service. The cheese macaroon was something unique and remarkable, worth the journey in itself. Very welcoming staff and thoroughly enjoyable food. Highly recommended.
Absolutely the best Restaurant I have been to. Food was an all-out experience, with no downfall dish at all on the taster menu. Every plate truly was an explosion of the senses. And to top it off, the service was perfect - friendly, accommodating and professional. Seriously recommended!
Absolutely brilliant!!! It’s only an hour from London by car or train so there is no reason to not go here. The food was fantastic, each course was perfectly balanced and the beef portion was so generous that we had to go for a walk in the gardens half way through. It would be worth making a day of it and staying in one of the rooms over night.
Lovely, quaint inn. Highly recommend! I stayed with my family and they prepared a lovely selection of dishes for my vegan sister. The food is picked for dinner and the beds and rooms are very clean. Cosy spot just 40 minutes from London!
Possibly the best Sunday lunch I've ever had. We stopped off here on our way back to London from Buckingham and we were not disappointed. Make sure you are very hungry when you arrive as there's lots to get through. Every plate of food was on point and the service was fantastic. The setting is also stunning, beautiful views, I can imagine this would be fantastic in the summer. If I lived a little nearer I'd go here all the time!!!

My wife and I went last night to celebrate my birthday. It was hands down the best experience we’ve had for a long time. Amazing food, amazing ambience and the staff were so attentive and helpful we couldn’t recommend them enough. Our favourite dishes - the smoked trout and the Welsh pork!
