Had a really awesome Sunday Lunch today, the portion sizes are huge and can’t remember having such a spectacular Roast Beef lunch in a while, 9 different veg sides.. including a stunning cauliflower cheese and delicious braised red cabbage.. it was off the charts! The Beef was perfectly cooked, tend
Went with the dog coronation weekend. Had a riser burger and fries which was absolutely lovely. This is a fantastic pub and the food is amazing. Garden is pretty if a little rustic, but for me that adds to the charm. Good menu and wonderful attentive staff and lovely landlord as well. Only slight i
Lovely atmosphere, very pleasant staff. Our second visit in the last 6 months for Sunday lunch. Beautifully cooked and presented and very reasonably priced. Parking a bit hit and miss but we managed to park within a few minutes walk. Definitely coming again!
I’ve been going to the Rising Sun since as long as I can remember, and it is one of the nicest pubs that you could find…if you can find it! Under the owner, Regan Howard’s stewardship, a new duo of Chef and Front of house staff have transformed the menu. Being a free house, there is a massive range
Second visit today to the delightful pub and we will definitely be back, sooner rather than later. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Food is amazing. Great variety and quality at excellent value for money prices. Large garden which will be lovely when the weather warms up a bit. No dedicated car par
The Riser is run by the champion manager Oli, who diligently runs the shop with his excellent team. Tom in the kitchen makes amazing food. We all love the loaded fries - as well as the beetroot risotto and other finer delicacies. Thoroughly recommend.
Perfect place for our summer evening meal. Family friendly and cozy atmosphere.
Had a lunchtime mid week meal celebrating a birthday. The duck , venison and steak meals we had were all exceptionally well presented, cooked to perfection aa good size and tasted great. Restaurant area very quaint and staff friendly. Can't wait to go back and try some of the other menu choices.
A relaxed Sunday afternoon and drinks with friends. Tomato soup tasted homemade from roasted tomatoes - very good flavour and plenty of bread. Fish with crunchy but not ouky) batter and chunky chips. Tartare sauce also tasted homemade. Staff friendly. Place full of character. Well-chosen selec
Just what we needed after a chilly autumn walk. We entered a very welcoming, almost familiar place. Luckily for us, there was a table free next to the fireplace to warm up our wet and cold clothes. The bartenders catered to our unusual request of tea with rum -to warm us from inside too. We even go
Excellent pub with great food and fun atmosphere. Ollie - the manager often seen tending bar - is a top lad. Great fun. Definitely making this place one of my usuals.
We only popped in for a coffee before a walk, but were pleasantly surprised by a real old-fashioned pub with a great feel and no unnecessary modernisations. There were 2 or 3 good draught ales on offer, so we might be back to try them!
Lovely Country Pub being brought back to life by the new management and enthusiastic chef. Booking Essential.
A traditional sawdust on the floor pub with a great selection of ales, good food and service at reasonable prices
Took my running club there after a run around the local vineyards for dinner. Service was prompt and the food excellent. Well done Ollie!
Great country pub! Fantastic food, wine list and service. It has a wonderful country pub atmosphere. And I will be back when there is live music or a pub quiz! Thank you
