Excellent rare roast beef, I would heartily recommend it. Mine was fantastic and I really enjoyed it (I believe that it is only served on a Sunday though)

Found this place by accident during a road journey. A traditional pub that is now essentially a restaurant although it does retain a bar in one of the three room, so if you just fancy a beer that's possible too. Food is clearly restaurant quality and a long way away from traditional 'pub-grub' and
Amazing friendly and helpful staff. Managed to get in for a Sunday lunch at quite short notice, we were very lucky! The food was excellent, nice medium rare beef with large Yorkshire pudding and plenty of sides. Great beer garden and very old, atmospheric building.
Absolutely rate the setting and staff, couldn’t fault; however was disappointed with the food, both starters and mains were below average… not great… fed most to our dogs.
Staff incredible and will still come for drinks and French fries.

We came for a late lunch and ordered the wagyu burger, haddock arancini and southern fried chicken, all of which were delicious! Also got a chocolate chip cookie which was freshly baked - we will be back for the sausage rolls as they smelled and looked amazing.

Genuinely one of the very best pubs in sussex. Absolutely worth a visit, weekly if possible! We are very lucky to have this place, its beer especially, its food, its open fireplaces, its atmosphere, outstanding staff and wonderful owners. Looking forward to my next pint and meal at the White Lion. W
