Love the place and the staff! They support local teams and events! This is what a proper village pub should be.

Popped in for a drink whilst visiting the prison museum. As my parents stayed 3 nights back in 1983. Very friendly pub x

Great place to visit and stay. No frills clean and warm cheap as chips but without sacrificing standards, we will be back!

Good selection of beers and other drinks. Meals are very good and huge, had a burger one evening and the Sunday lunch which could have fed two people it was that big. Bar staff were great with some fun banter going around and a good atmosphere.

This is a hidden gem on the moors. Great welcome and service by the staff. Food was excellent, freshly cooked and hot food. I would highly recommend it, will eat there again. The Halloween decorations were excellent.

Exceptional evening here. Stopped for food and a kind stopover in their car park. Food was fab, drinks (Jail Ale) was great, but service was exceptional, especially Katie who was work the bar late into the evening and couldn't have been better at looking after us and making us feel welcome (seriously mentioning to the landlord, this is a great member of staff), hats off to her, and the rest of the team for a great visit, and welcoming our big puppy Casper. We don't frequent pubs much, but ended up staying to closing, a message in itself. Well done guys.

Highly recommend the Prince of Wales for excellent food and great service. After a walk on the moors, what better than a warm welcome and one of the best meals we've had in a long time. Great value, home cooked, SO tasty and big portions, especially the Prince of Wales Stack which our son said was the best and biggest burger he'd ever had - we'll definitely be back!

Second time we have been to the Prince of Wales, both times for a Sunday Roast 😀, one veggie one and one meat one. All I can say is its the best roast dinner we have had, for taste, size and value. Would highly recommend it, pleasant environment, really accommodating staff. Especially with our malamute Aj 😀 he had his own bowl of water and he had sausages too. We will definitely be back 😁

Car park stay in our campervan. Very friendly pub and locals. Great food and superb beer. You can't come to Dartmoor and not drink Jail Ale

Visiting the village of my childhood the pub has great atmosphere and history. The menu however seemed quite expensive.

Didn't try the food but this was a happy pub on a Sunday afternoon. Really good beer, as you'd expect from a pub with the Jail Ale brewery a stones throw away. Plenty of seating and great service. Best pub in Princetown and the perfect place for a pint after walking 24 Tors in 24 hours for the School in a Bag Charity

The only restaurant that was still open at 7 am. Local beer was great and food was good too. Prices are moderate and service did a good job. Go on like this! Cheers from two german visitors.

We did not book a room, the food was lovely and reasonably priced. The reason 4 stars 3 pints 1 coffee cost safe price as meals, so felt over priced.
