Great place to have a pint and warm on a wet October day. Good choice of drinks from beers to spirits. Very friendly staff. The pub kitchen is closed until December due to major renovations so there was no food available, although prior to this the food was good. We normally stay at the campsite the
I like the refurbishment. So pleased that they have kept original features including the flagstone floor. Just popped in for a quick drink so don't know what the food is like. The staff very friendly. I understand that the renewed kitchen will be opening soon.
Central pub, stopped for lunch after walking on the moor. Fantastic pint of Legend and a good baguette. Lunch options,, are wraps, sandwiches and jacket potatoes. Bar man was brilliant, very attentive. Dogs allowed! One downside it would have been great to order a side of chips, otherwise really goo
Good selection of Ales and beers and dog friendly to. Popular pub that's recently recently reopened following a refit, but well worth a visit if you're trekking on Dartmoor or visiting a relative in the "Big House" at HMP!!!
Great beers, really well kept. Friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere with great music. Great start/finish point for a day out on the Moor.
The staff were very friendly & nice, Food was nice very tasty, its a shame the location it gets a little lost if another pub we were going to hadn't been full we would have gone somewhere else but we saw this one last minute.
Stayed for a couple nights in the camping field. Been a fantastic way station for my journey through Dartmoor. Staff are really nice & helpful & the shower room was a lovely bonus!
Super cheap bunkhouse. Clean. Kitchen with hob, kettle, etc. No plugs in rooms. No sheets either so carry your sleeping bag.
The pub reopened this weekend, we visited today for a few drinks and were impressed with how the renovation has gone, had a lovely feel to the pub and we received a warm welcome from the staff. Will visited again to try food!

A nice rustic pub, welcoming staff, great food, large car park, no wifi.
Lovely quiet dog friendly place with minimal facilities to give it the rustic appeal. Circular moorland walks straight from the campsite and a visitors centre to give advise and maps for other walks. The pub food is among the best you'll ever have! The breakfast is so good as well! Make sure you che
