Well executed fish and chips, good sauces. One of the better ones I've had, but wouldn't say it's top50 UK.
Everyone tells me how nice this chippy is so it's about time I went. No8 is just off Bury New Road and is a lovely chippy, I had fish chips & curry and also a battered Cadbury creme egg which was in aid of a charity.

This chippy continues to go from strength-to-strength. I've never had a bad meal from here. Try the Rag Pudding. It can get real busy at times but the food is worth the wait. Treat yourself, you won't regret it
Whilst I admit this isnt the cheapest in the Prestwich area, the food is excellent. The portions are not stingy but not overfacing either. My 1st visit, had the Steak and Stout pie with chips and its one of the best pies. Recently had fish and chips. I've no idea what is in the fish batter, but it tasted amazing. I will return!
I had an absolutely fantastic experience at this fish n chips restaurant! From pre-ordering 10 items, including 9 fish n chips and 1 Halumi, the correspondence was top-tier. The staff provided excellent guidance on menu choices and answered all my questions via Messenger. They even went the extra mile by bringing my order to my car. Compliments all around for the outstanding service and delicious food!
Tried Chips at No.8 for the first time and I have to say it was one of the best chippy's we've had! Crispy batter and the fish was so succulent and fresh, the battered sausage and chips were a winner too. There was a big queue outside which was a good sign. Look forward to ordering from here again.

They are obviously very popular. There was quite a queue when we got there, but they tried to be as efficient as possible. So be prepared for a bit of a wait.
Fresh, vibrant and modern chippy with a small but perfectly formed menu and thumping tunes whilst you wait. Had to try the pea scallop but didn’t brave the battered crème egg! Everything was great. Would visit again!
Best fish and chips in Manchester. Freshly made for each order. The mushy peas are also the best, I’m not even really a fan of mushy peas generally but these are amazing
Just had 2 cod and chips, a sausage and 2 gravies, food was great, not cheap but as I work with food myself you can tell it's good quality fish, great batter... Two good looking girls 😉 at counter, polite and friendly. Would recommend and definitely will see me again.

Wow this place was awesome brilliant food definitely not your average chippy lots on the menu and you can all so have things cooked in different fats like beef dripping

Well sourced produce, cooked to perfection. Plus as an Easter treat, battered Creme eggs. They have no right to be as tasty as they are.

Delicious, best chippy I've had possibly ever. Really tasty saag aloo pie and perfect chips and curry sauce. And I wouldn't have thought to deep fry a creme egg but weirdly it works.
I didn't go in so can't comment on anything but my bit of the food. Looked like a nice place to sit in as well though.
First time visit this chip shop. My husband purchased 4 fish, 2 chips & 2 gravy. We all fully enjoyed it and we will definitely visit again.
Fast and friendly service. Excellent crispy chips and a meaty sausage that tasted like a quality item. The presentation of the food is a cut above the usual. This is a very good chippy!
Best chip shop in the area, bar none. Excellent quality of fish with good sized portions of fish and chips. Friendly staff. Nice selection of sides as well (including deep-fried Creme Eggs when I went at Easter). Choice of cooking in either beef dripping (traditional and delicious!) or vegetable oil. My vegetarian companion had fried halloumi which was also delicious. Mostly just take-away - although there are a few seats these are usually filled with people waiting on their orders. - there are usually parking spaces in the evening at the small parking area opposite the shop, except at busy times.
