I have only had my starter . Definitely full stars all ready and definitely a full appetite coming up for me
Had an evening meal here whilst staying at the Premier Inn. The service was good and all the staff were friendly. It was a nice atmosphere and not too loud. A few of the Sunday lunch options were sold out but they gave alternatives. Portion sizes were good. New children’s menu was really good.
First visit to this restaurant for some lunch. Have been previously just for drinks which I found expensive. On saying that the meal was most enjoyable and reasonably priced. Excellent customer service. Will definitely call again.

Really nice food, super friendly staff, nice decorations and music :-)
Decent chef & brewer / green king offering. Hunter chicken was excellent and service was good. Let down a bit by atmosphere. Was empty on a Friday lunchtime at 1 and next to a dual carriageway too.
Thanks to Rachel S. and her team behind the grill, mundane business trip was made so much more enjoyable! Breakfasts, perfectly tweaked to my liking, were the highlights I am happy to recall with the smile on my face! Thank you Rachel!
Wow, amazing food and place with superb Gluten free menu. Thankyou
A huge thank you to the accommodating and hospitable manager serving on Sunday 17th September ( I’m sorry I forgot your name)
We were celebrating my parents wedding anniversary and had intially booked elsewhere but where massively disappointed with the other pub. So driving along we came across The Roebuck. They were practically fully booked up but the manager and other staff jiggled things around and we were allocating a lovely oval table for our family of 6. The atmosphere was delightful near a fire surrounded by fairy lights. Had I have known what a great place this is I would’ve made this my first choice.
The service was fantastic. The staff helpful and polite and the food was lovely.
Massive thanks to the team serving that day that made my parents anniversary celebration a decent one!
Had a meal here this evening while staying at the Premier Inn next door. Had the Duo of Korean Chicken which was one of the most delicious meals I've ever had. The sticky toffee pudding was incredible too. Lovely pub/restaurant and great friendly service. Went for a walk down the canal afterwards - such a beautiful area. Would definitely eat at the Roebuck again.
Edit:
Had breakfast here the following morning which was also absolutely delicious and good speedy service.
Fantastic food. Had 2 meals here while staying at the premier inn. It’s great that they take the premier business account card unlike some other greenking/chef and brewers. They obviously realise the potential of accepting it - more customers especially as it serves as the restaurant for the hotel.
Back to the meals, I had meals off their specials board (pulled lamb flatbread and soy and chilli pork belly) both of which excelled in flavour and presentation.
Great place to eat. I drove myself and my partner down from Blackpool to enjoy a cosy pub meal, which we were both happy with.
The atmosphere was relaxed, and the staff member who took our order was really friendly.
The only complaint we have is a single hair in my partners food, but it happens and no one is perfect.
Took a walk down A6 popped in roebuck and was very impressed. Quite on Wednesday afternoon. Lovely guy behind bar called James. Restroom very clean and had toiletries for travelers to freshen up. Food was excellent and good price. Really enjoyed the experience, will visit again. Dogs welcome in bar area. Thanks.
We've been to the roebuck quite a few times as we are relatively local.
It is a chef and brewer pub so the menu is similar to others in the chain.
The menu has plenty of choice, including vege options and all the food that we have had over several visits has been good pub grub, with better than good presentation.
The fried garlic prawns were very nice, to be honest the portion size was a bit disappointing but they were firm and tasty.
Garlic mushrooms on ciabatta was a good portion and a good flavour, certainly recommend for fans of the fungi.
The daily soup varies, but always a vege and vegan (no butter) option. The spiced vegetable soup was good, a bit like a thin curry.
The steak on ciabatta sandwich was very good, from the lunch menu but a good portion, cooked medium.
The battered halloumi is a great take on no-meat fish and chips, very tasty, good portion size, too much really : )
The gammon was excellent, not salty as it can be in places, a good size cut and the rum and cola glaze was actually sensational, very pleasant and moreish.
Desserts are the usual pub pre-portioned affair but nothing wrong with them at all, we tried two sundaes, both good and the indulgent sharer on another visit which was good and surprisingly filling too.
No complaints, would recommend any of the dishes we had (more prawns please) and we will certainly go back again.
Staff are all friendly and their covid measures are also commendable.
One of our pre-covid regulars for Sunday lunch and will be again.
Extensive beer garden and plenty of parking. Dog friendly : )
Love this place; the food is amazing and all freshly cooked. As a vegetarian there is always plenty of choice for me. The staff are lovely and always really friendly and helpful. My favourite eating place .
A convenient stopping place for a coffee on the way between Lancaster and Preston. I only had a coffee, but was greeted warmly and served happily. The environment was clean, quiet and calm, though I imagine it gets very busy at times. It’s adjacent to a Premier Inn and therefore convenient for meals for customers staying there. The brief chat with the bar-person was friendly and would encourage me to go again as I felt valued.
