polite and welcoming, seated where we felt comfortable, not hurried to order, drinks served promptly, the haddock fish bites was a good size sharing starter, very tasty πŸ˜‹ unless you're really hungry this portion size was OK, then the mains we had a regular and a small haddock and chips, both our fish were in a crunchy batter, excellent white fish, not overcooked or swimming in oil πŸ˜€ The place itself was clean and bright, the toilets were equally high standard, our 1st visit and came away pleased and full, could ask for better

Great decor and friendly staff. Mushy peas really nice but would have to knock a couple of stars off for the quality of the chips. Not the greatest especially considering the price. It's nice to have a sit down and ambience is good, menu is quite pricey though. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was practically empty so that was good, service was quick, table service as well, and staff were welcoming. Great toilet facilities as well. The menu also has vegetarian and vegan options.

Genuinely good fish and chips - said with a tone of surprise, given the setting, which is a whole entertainment centre with other attractions, one might be forgiven for expecting the restaurant food to be merely passable. It was actually really great!

Granted the food is more expensive than the average fish and chip restaurant but it really is worth the price. A wide selection, freshly cooked, served in comfortable surroundings. A full gluten free menu, including battered items, is available.

Had a chip butty, the chips were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Kids had sausage and chips and all were thoroughly enjoyed.

Presently surprised, the restaurant area was modern, clean, and tidy. Staff friendly and helpful. The food was really good, though a tad on the pricy end of the scale for fish and chips.

Very friendly and efficient staff, fish and chips were good, not the best I’ve had but certainly good enough. Plenty of space and very clean.

First time we've been to this restaurant and what a lovely surprise, originally went to the garden centre but thought we would try this fish and chips restaurant, small fish and chips is ample for us and was gorgeous, beautiful fish and delicious chips .Thoroughly recommended on all counts ,good food , nice pleasant staff and lovely condition in building and toilets, Mike

Liked this place a lot. We had haddock and chips one with mushy peas and one with garden peas and gravy. When the fish arrived I was a little concerned as the batter was very pale. However it was light, crisp and evenly coated. Apparently they use a gluten free, tempora style batter. I can well recommend it. The staff are lovely, helpful and friendly. Will definitely go again.

This is without doubt our favourite Fish Restaurant. We have been coming here ever since it opened and (touch wood) I am yet to have a bad meal, bad experience or bad service, we thoroughly enjoy it, the food is full of taste and quality, pricing is more than competitive (Small Dish below @ £8.90) and service is relaxed and courteous. If you haven't yet tried this restaurant I would fully recommend it! 😊😊

We have just had scampi, chips and mushy peas followed by the most delightful cherry cheesecake. The whole meal was fabulous. Served by friendly gentlemen who are a credit to Barton Grange. Thank you all.

Had Regular Haddock and chips, very well cooked and presented. The staff were very friendly and attentive. For a regular size the fish was very big! Very good value and quality, would definitely recommend!

The food and atmosphere was lovely. There could be a better choice of desserts though.... especially as you can get delicious cakes at the cafe in the garden centre. I'm not sure why you can't get them at the Ocean fish & chip restaurant as well. I would certainly recommend a visit though.

Visited for the first time one Saturday evening around 6.15pm. Had a choice of table and chose a window table. Service was excellent throughout. Nothing was too much trouble and really impressed that they asked about any food allergies before taking the order. We both chose fish and chips. Food was excellent. Batter was thin and crispy. Chips were quite thin but really nice. Mushy peas were amazing. We both concluded we'd not had better fish and chips anywhere. Will definitely return.
