Very busy chippy but only because the food is so good. Delivers locally. Lovely staff. Definitely recommend The Top Chippy

I went in for one of their homemade Cheese and Onion Pies. It was we worth a visit. Delicious, just like my mum used to make.
Please note that they only do Gluten-free on Wednesday and Thursday. Apart from that looks OK and seems clean and tidy, nice website

It was my last day in lancashire as i was on holiday and leaving later on that day and i went into the chippy and there were two really kind ladies who took our orders and freshyly made our food. Once I got back to the holiday home I sat down and started eating and I will say this is hands down the best food i have ever had from a chippy and its food was leagues better than any chippy in birmingham. I had battered sausage with cheesy chips and a scollop aswell as a drink to go with it. The batter on the scollop and the battered sausage were perfectly crispy and the potato and sausage on the inside were cooked to perfect temperature. The cheesy chips were incredible and were by far my favourite chips i have ever had. One last thinging because the things we ordered were in large amounts the food i just listed was mine but there was also four of my other family ordering aswell so they dealt with the pressure really well and still managed to give us great food also we got a box to carry the large amount of food boxes in which i have never seen before. So is you are in lancashire definately try out this chippy!!

Nice freshly cooked fish & chips, chips tasted a little "earthy" & a few were not quite cooked, the fish was a decent size & the batter was fine. Not too bad value. Only used once recently so only one visit to go by at the mo...
We had a chippy here and despite some of the reviews here it was really good! The portion sizes were more than enough unless you are of alarger frame..... The fish was cooked well, not too greasy, chips were really nice and the Irish curry sauce was perfect! We'll definitely go again!

Despite a packed place on a Monday night (the fabulous Palace Cinema opposite is screening Mama Mia) after a short wait in a long queue - I left with what turned out to be the king of “chippy teas”..
Haddock very tasty and nicely cooked with crispy but not overly thick batter, the chips tasty, creamy and done to perfection.
Even the often bland “chippy sausage” was a firm slightly smoked quality sausage that tasted great.
Out of 10 - yep, that’s a solid 10 for good service and great tasting traditional food.
Do go and give them a try.
Been twice...can't fault it. Delicious fish lightly battered and good chips. The staff are so helpful and pleasant. Will be going again and again for sure. Both times we sat in and there was no rush and made to feel very welcome.
Not a bad chippy at all. Conventional side-on layout, with a small eat-in room up the steps at the rear. For takeaways, remember to place your order as you come through the door. Oh, and the food's great too. I understand that they sometimes stay open late for the convenience of users of The Palace over the road, but don't bank on it...

I can not fault the food at all, we are all very happy with the food, we just had it and its got to be one of the best chippy food ive had in years.
Only been once recently and they were great, sat inside and top notch food. Great curry and friendly staff, very pleased. 'down to earth' atmosphere.
