Went here for afternoon tea, due to the sudden announcement of stores closing leaving only an express one in Manchester, the closest option for us was this one in Preston (we planned to go to the one in Bury two days after the announcement, but a day out Preston was fun, so swings and roundabouts). Was worth the rail fair, very nice food, which was just enough for two people. We requested some changes to the sandwiches which wasn't a problem (we swapped one option for two lots of ham without mustard). It doesn't say on the menu but you can order hot chocolate as well as any tea or coffee and get as many refills as you want. It is such a shame that PV has been mismanaged and could soon be gone from the high street. £20 for afternoon tea for 2 is very good value all things considered. Staff were all friendly and attentive. Only negative, given the cold weather outside, when the door to outside was opened there was a freezing cold draft that covered every part of the seating area, a design flaw for sure, though it soon heated up again once the door had closed.

Needs a bit of an update to make the seating more comfortable and to create some ambiance. The food was lovely especially the cakes for which it is justifiably well known. Lighting was a bit too bright in places bordering on glaring. The staff were super, polite attentive and cheerful. ££

First visit and very impressed with the speed our order was put together and taken to our table. I will certainly be visiting again. A nice place to spend quality time with friends and family. Being on one level makes it ideal for wheelchair users I'm unsure about toilet arrangements for disabled customers as we didn't use them

Delicious cakes but slightly over priced for what you get and if you don't keep them refrigerated, they turn into a cake puddle within a couple of hours. The service is slow though, even when cafe is almost empty. It's a nice touch to put the cake in a box with a ribbon but for me, unnecessary

High quality cafe of fancy French sweets and baked goods. Coffee is strong and well made. Savoury offerings are equally very nice too. You will be satisfied here! Only slight gripe is the thundering crashing of cutlery being put in our taken out of the dish washer. Would be nice if you could hear yourself and your company over it!
