Popped in for Lunch after a walk at Beacon Fell. The food was very good in pleasant surroundings. Shame they only had 1 cask ale on. My Steak pudding was delicious and came with an extra jug of gravy 😋 My wifes Chicken Kiev(a proper breast) was v tasty too and portion size was good. Will go again.

A great pub with generous portions of food for a decent price. The only hiccup was that there was a generous waiting time for the food. All said and done it was fresh and very tasty. The garlic mushroom starter was phenomenal 👌

So the waitresses were poor I am sorry to say but their manager was on the ball and thank god, because otherwise it would have ruined what was a decent meal and nice venue. FoH needs some training but appreciate not easy to find people in the current climate.

The beer battered haddock was absolutely superb, one of the best ever! Home made tartar sauce was delicious too. Definitely recommend a drive out to this place!

Went in Alston few Saturdays ago for a cheese and onion buttie very nice and plenty of salad to can't complain at all. Went also today 24th June before going to Longridge town had that beer battered fish and chunky chips with an wainwright ale again fantastic and defo will have that again at somepo
