My partner and I were fortunate enough to stop by this lovely countryside pub for a Sunday roast back at the end of November. However, as we discovered, this is not your average roast dinner! We had Quails egg scotch egg for starter which was a true work of art in itself. Then came our mains – I had the pork and my partner had the roast beef. Every element of the dish was sublime and we rave about the celeriac puree to this day. Wine and service was top notch and the home-made focaccia was divine. The Head Chef even took the time to chat to us at our table. 10/10 – amazing experience and the best pub meal my partner and I have had in our combined 72 years!

We went for a family lunch last week. This pub has a really nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The quality of food was very good with a superbly presented sunday roast and a nice range of starters. Will definitely be going back in the near future.

Wow,This is the best pub in the world full stop. Very friendly beautiful old pub and the food is just 1st class not one negative. I've eaten in some of the best restaurants in the world from the United Arab Emirates to the North Arctic and this is just fantastic in presentation, Quantity,Quality and cost I just cannot fault it. I cant wait to go back and only 10 minutes from my house . See u very soon.

Good food. Limited menu, but that isn't a problem as the food is lovely. Great lamb duo, and chicken tagine.

Excellent food and very friendly. The food is superb and there is clearly a talented chef in the kitchen. It's quality over quantity but with a dessert it's perfect. Nothing bought in here. Thoroughly recommended.

We booked here for Sunday lunch whilst staying at The Gothic Temple at Stowe. The staff were friendly, welcoming and flexible in dealing with our groups food requests. The food itself was delicious. Beef and lamb were perfectly cooked and, as were all the trimmings. Everything a good country pub should be.

Last time I reviewed this I gave it one star and a bit of a hammering! As a result of that, they invited me back to try them again. I have to say that this time it was exceptional. It was a regular menu. There was nothing special because they'd invited me back so I think it has greatly improved from my first visit. We shared the Thai crab starter which was delicious. We each had the duck which was very nice even if it was a little tough from time to time. But then the balance is often that if it's very tender it doesn't have the flavour. This was very flavorsome. We finished by sharing a dessert which was also delicious. Full marks for making up for what was an awful meal with something very, very nice. I would certainly recommend The White Hart.

Lovely atmosphere and great roast dinner. The waiters are really nice, even though some are a bit inexperienced. Their beef roast was incredible 10/10!their seasonal greens were also really nice and creamy. The cheesy cauliflower is really lovely and the cheese in it is not overpowering. The focaccia is also a really nice appetiser for the table. I will definitely be going back!
