Relaxed pub, haven't been for a few years and thought I'd try it again. it seems chilled and laid back. Has an outside back and front with cover to stay out the sun or rain. Tried the hunters chicken which was decent nice and juicy with thin crispy bacon and cheese pulling off it . Chips are just your standard pub chips but drown them in vinegar and bobs ya uncle. Wish I had more peas as just had a couple of forkfulls of peas but that's a minor gripe I'm sure I'll deal with it. Has a carvery everyday and the meats looked juicy and tasty will be back to try that soon. Oh and the morreti lager was cold and tasted perfect . Went back and tried the mini mixed grill is was decent. 2 sausage, chicken breast , gammon and egg chips and peas. Good of you need a lot of protein.

Fantastic place to come and eat. The carvery is only £6(ish) for a small one. The steak and ale pies are omg and the vegetarian cheese pie is wow! Great friendly service.

A lovely establishment on the outskirts of Whiston in Liverpool. A warm and welcoming atmosphere, nice staff, a wide selection of good food and carvery. Been here a few times enjoy it each time.

Food Can’t fault it. Nice carvery’s and good selection on the Menu. But can only give the service a 1 Star. Reason being is that on a Saturday night last orders was 9pm for Drinks and food. But on the internet it says closes at 11pm. Seems like to me that we was rushed out early with Staff clearing up around us, because they wanted to get off home early. I don’t know how it makes any money unless you make more through the daytime. Also change your hours on your website to start with.( Well ok your busy hours are from 12-8pm like you said, but that’s ok I understand that. But customers should not be made to feel like they have to rush out. That’s not good for Business and it would not happen in Spain. Much better Customer service in Spain Restaurants and Bars. 👌😉

Great place to eat. Very friendly staff. Carvery was delicious. Our waitress Katie was a breath of fresh air. Helped us so much due to me being wheelchair bound .number one favourite place for us . Children friendly . See you all soon

I've not been here for a while. We arrived to a queue and a "have you booked"? We were therefore dubious. We went to the bar which was very busy also. The queue went down quickly due to the excellent service, and our food came quicker than expected due to how busy the place was. The Macaroni cheese was spot on, and the carvery was brilliant. Although I was dubious, all my doubts were blown away by what was obviously a well run, very successful pub. Will be back soon.

The hostess managed to find a table for us on a busy day (sunday) and the bar staff were all nice. Food came at a decent time, good portion sizes, and all came out hot. Veggie options were surprisingly good 👍 Nice and chilled atmosphere, would come again

Regular visitor of The Grapes with my family. Love visiting each time and always welcomed by friendly staff who always go above an beyond for their guests. Food is always 10/10 never had an issue, would love to see some burgers without mayo as not a fan of it but other than that, you can’t fault the place. Would recommend anyone to visit wether your wanting a drink with friends or a meal with the family, I’m sure you’ll thoroughly enjoy your visit.

Had the 3 courses for 5.99 deal. Very good quality for the cost of the deal and portion size was adequate for the amount of courses. Nice meal , friendly service , didn't have to wait too long between courses. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Can see why it's always busy here. Would definitely come back. Update - been back after lockdown and the ultimate fish and chips was incredible.

We always get looked after here. Food is consistently good and great value for money. We flip flop from carvery to the menu. Sometimes even a take out carvery. We are even booked in for Christmas day

Lovely staff. Food was impressive, large selection of sides, excellent buttery mashed potato, stuffing was well flavoured and not a dried out brick, turkey was tender, gammon not over salted, fresh yorkshire puddings about 6 inches tall and tasty pigs in blankets. Wide selection of beers/ciders/wines and cocktails, reasonably priced. Has a "Doggy station" outside with treats and fresh water. Has piped music outside too which was a nice touch. All in all, well recommended. I went for my birthday and it was a lovely experience.

If it's posh nosh you're looking for then this is probably not the place for you, if you're looking for a good value place to grab a bite to eat then it's perfect. Sunday roast is good with a generous portion of meat which surprisingly for a chain pub does not taste of plastic! Good value 2 for meals available Monday to Friday and birthday celebration cakes available too. Overall this pub has been a stable place to visit for some years and is great for families especially.
