Not been in for a little while. Still excellent in every way. A young but attentive set of staff who were very mindful of our picky eating requirements. The meat is delicious and so is the fish. The best cappuccino I have had for a long while. Highly recommended if you are ever in Poynton.
I wanted to say a big thanks for the fantastic night we had for my husband’s retirement do with 20 of his colleagues. Nothing was too much trouble, food and service were a credit to you. We had a lovely evening. You went above and beyond to make it memorable. Thank you!
Wow, we've been missing out on this place! It's clearly a very different restaurant Vs how it was the last time we visited a few years ago. What a gem of a restaurant to have in Poynton! Great, very friendly and very attentive staff, very reasonable prices, and the food is incredible! Clearly very popular for takeaway pizza too. Will be back, often!
We went for a birthday dinner on a Friday night and had a really good meal. The service was excellent. The food was very good for the price and the atmosphere was good too. The atmosphere would have been even better if a little busier. Would definitely go again to Il Borgo.
I've been coming to Il Burgo for years, since they were over in Heaton Moor. Absolutely perfect every time. The food is brilliant. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The restaurant is always well presented, clean and tidy. Good menu for the kids as well as colouring pens etc to keep them happy.

A great local Italian! The staff were superb and the food delicious. I had the lobster ravioli and my friend had one of the risottos. Such a lovely restaurant 😍 😋

The food was simply excellent and the service too, way above many places I visited. As an Italian, I highly recommend this restaurant as they put a genuine effort offering delicious food at fair prices.

Got recommended this place by a friend so booked in for date night this evening.
Walking in we were greeted by a welcoming host and seated quickly. First impressions of the establishment are "this is going to be good"
There were a few 6+ party tables in which added to the atmosphere, very much the Italian dinner table with family and friends enjoying food, wine and good company. Reminds me of when we see my family in Italy and have meals together.
The waiter/host that dealt with us was brilliant and he'll go far in the hospitality trade. The girls working the floor were very attentive to all the tables. Very impressed with the FOH team, they may be young but they're a credit to the restaurant.
Next the food, just wow. Hanging beef Kebab was incredible and the seafood risotto was lovely. Looking forward to our next visit to try out more of the menu.
The owner/manager was out and about chatting to tables which was nice to see and added that "welcome to my home, enjoy yourself" feel.
Espresso was good and the Grappa was like being back in Maniago.
100% recommend this place no matter the party size for a genuine taste of Italy(even if it is the South).
Great tasting calzone, breaming with delicious fillings. Lovely staff and super athmosphere.
The food was so fresh and I loved every part of it. The dessert was definitely home made and I had the best mussels I’ve ever had. I will definitely be coming back and recommending to family & friends.

Superb meal, perfectly cooked steak, presentation good, with generous portions.
I had a garlic coffee to finish which is notoriously difficult to perfect in any restaurant, but this was the most perfect that I have had in years, thanks to an excellent waitress. Well done! We'll be back.
