An excellent diner. Very dog friendly (outside under cover seating in porch or in a large shed area. Heaters when cold.) Good selection of doggy treats, beds, water bowls etc when you take you four legged friend. Food choices are good with lots of options on the menu. Reasonably priced. Nice IPA beer on the menu.
If you like your meat southern style then this is the place to go. Always busy and always a great atmosphere. Great and attentive staff. Great choice of food. Plenty for the kids to do. Book ahead at busy times or you will be disappointed. Highly recommended.
1st time at a Hickory's and first impressions were very good venue looked new and stylish and we were instantly greeted by friendly attentive staff. After being seated our waitress introduced herself and took our order promptly. Drinks arrived quickly and our food order was taken i got one of the milkshakes as i was driving which was really nice but very very sweet . Unfortunately this is when it fell down a little, there were 6 of us and 2 of us ordered starters and mains and the other 4 just ordered mains, we waited almost 50 minutes for our 2 starters to arrive which were only nachos and corn dogs. I was told the corn dogs were OK but nothing special and I wasn't a fan of the nachos as they somehow seemed to be soft rather than crunchy which I suspect they had been left on the side somewhere whilst we were waiting. We were literally about half way through our starters and the mains started to arrive, we thought they may just be bringing the other peoples mains who didn't order starters but then our mains were brought out when we were still halfway through out starters which isn't good but tbh I wasn't that impressed with the starter so just pushed it to the side for the mains to be placed down. The staff did see we were still eating our starter when they brought out the mains and wasn't sure what to really do but as we had all now been waiting so long i said it was ok and just put them down.
Now I must admit the mains really "pulled" 😉 it back for them as it was amazing i got the big smoke house platter and there was a lot. The sausage was absolutely amazing possibly best I have had, the pulled pork with pitted beans was very tasty although quite sweet but I really liked it. The baby back ribs were nice but nothing amazing but the beef rib was really nice and just fell apart. Chicken wings were quite large and nice and the sauce on them was lovely. The coleslaw tasted like it was made with sour cream rather than mayonnaise and wasnt really to our liking but the pickles were lovely. But the star of the show was the brisket which was fantastic, it just pulled apart with no effort and the rub that was on it was amazing. Everyone else said their mains were really good it was just a shame that the starters wasn't really up to scratch and took so long to arrive. We had also just had a big celebration and the staff went all out and brought us a lovely treat that was really nice and much appreciated. All in all I will deffo go again as the staff were friendly, the mains were very good, venue was nice clean and looked quite trendy. Deffo not the cheapest place to eat but you get what you pay for.
Very very nice food. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. They suprised my daughter with a birthday treat and sparkler. Honestly cannot recommend this place enough, 1000/10 definitely go if you have the chance 🙌🏼
We enjoyed a lovely meal here at Hickory’s. I had the double hickory’s burger for approximately £16 and I have to say it was delicious. We also ordered onion rings of which I wasn’t a fan but thankfully my wife was. Just watch out on your bill for tips being added on without your knowledge- but the staff are more than happy to remove them
Really nice restaurant, food is delicious, we were a party of 6 and we all enjoyed our meals. The prices are average I'd say, for what you get and the quality I don't think it's too expensive. The kids loved it here, there's a little cinema with Disney movies showing which was fab to break up the time there for them. The kids (and adults) also really enjoyed toasting marshmallows at the table for their pudding. The menu is pretty big and there were so many choices we will be back to try more.
Great food. Excellent atmosphere. Free popcorn on entry and staff are friendly. American vibes are strong here and you should absolutely try one of the weekday specials. Very tasty. Not a cheap place to eat but certainly don't feel short changed as the BBQ flavours are delicious. Plenty of parking and disabled toilets on ground floor.
Not many places like this and we happily drive 45 minutes here and will continue to do.
The whole atmosphere is lovely, don’t need to dress up, just a cosy place with a brilliant vibe…the food is absolutely outstanding, we are big eaters and still leave food on our plates. Don’t be deceived by this being a chain, on our second visit we noticed they have a smoker on site for the meat so definitely not microwave meals like some!!
The service tonight was brilliant, can not fault a single member of staff.
Really amazing place, I hope they keep it going because it’s a rare gem!!
If you want to feel like a morbidly obese American you must come here!
The cheesy pretzel starter was decent, but I could've lived without it.
For main I had chicken and bacon on a waffle with maple syrup, which although it sounds like something Stevie Wonder may make by accident, actually tasted amazing.
The wife had baby back ribs which were lovely too, the meat coming clean off the bone.
For dessert we had honeycomb frozen custard which was a lot nicer than it sounds.
If you do visit just remember to bring a bucket of insulin because you'll have diabetes by the end of the meal...but it'll be worth it.
One of my favourite places to go! Chilled atmosphere, amazing decor. Staff are friendly. Food is amazing and you get what you pay for. Would highly recommend!
