Brilliant old pub in a quiet rural setting. Still has many of the old features. Good selection of beers, excellent food and friendly staff. Plenty of seating indoors and outside to the front. Small garden to the rear.
One of my favourite places to go out for lunch on a rare day off. Lovely characterful building, especially cosy on a cold winters day next to the fire and equally as lovely in the summer in their garden. Food is good wholesome homemade cooking. Very generous portions and excellent value for money. A
Most of our food was good - a nice pie, and a nice steak. Losing a star for the lasagne which didn't have any cheese sauce on it.
The beer was interesting local bitter, probably not shifting quite enough for the best freshness, but not far off.
Traditional pub. Little car park out front across the road. Road can be busy but that doesn't spoilt the atmosphere of the pub. Food simple but not expensive. Makes a nice change from pricey gourmet meals. Dogs welcome inside and in the front garden.
Lovely pub in the Dartmoor area. Warmly welcomed and had 2 delicious beers. Food menu was extensive with home made dishes. Very tasty!
Great spot for a treat and relaxing after a long walk. Very friendly customer service and cooked on point gammon steak with egg. Seriously good. Certainly will be back!
Great menu, something for everyone. Lovely specials board. Great beer, friendly staff and, of course, views to die for over Dartmoor. Beer gardens, dog friendly. The building and it very long history is worth a read on the information about the place.
We had a wonderful meal at this cosy local pub. There were three of us and we each had a different meal - all great and good value. Sat outside in the early evening sunshine and thoroughly enjoyed our visit - highly recommend!!!
A proper dartmoor pub
Well kept ales and a great location
Lots of history and atmosphere
The food is real homemade tasty satisfyingly filling stuff that is perfect before of after a walk on the Moor
Cute place on the road. We came across it driving by. They had outdoor seating, friendly staff, nice food and good portions.
Very old authentic pub. Family of 4 for dinner. Lamb shank, vegan meal, massive burger and kids meal all great.
Very homely little pub with log fire, local ales and traditional decor. Their one pot teas are also something special
Found this pub during the otter hunt. Food was excellent, young lady serving was polite and willing to accommodate where possible. Lovely area outside, sat at a table in the pouring rain starting dry, was a lovely experience
Excellent food and friendly welcome from owners. Dog friendly, big carpark. Definitely worth a visit. Use it or loose it.
