My family and i called in on sunday 8th April on the way back to Salford we had never been here before and we all loved the food the starters were lovely the main was fantastic and the deserts were to die for and the beer was spot on the staff were keen to help and although the place was very busy there was no waiting. We will highly recomend this place with confidence and look forward to calling again. 5 star service.
Was our first time here. Lovely oldy wordly inside. Very pleasant staff. I had the lamb shank. Our lass had the British chicken. Didn't realize you got a full chicken, which our lass couldn't manage by herself. Had to give her a little help finishing it. Then I had a fruit crumble with custard. Absolutely yummy. All in all. Excellent meal. Quite reasonable as well. Would definitely recommend this place. Get yourselves along. You won't be disappointed.
It was a very busy Saturday night, however the food ordered arrived quickly and was excellent. I had a steak, which was cooked to perfection and exactly as requested. The staff are friendly and obliging. Can't wait to have another evening meal there. Worth every penny!

Went yesterday and it was beautiful I had a roast beef dinner and Colin had the Lamb shank will most definetly be back great atmosphere and brilliant service. The manager was really welcoming with all customers and genuinely cared about everyone's experience xx

Absolutely amazing customer service & food! We had the leak & potato soup and the mushrooms for starters and they were delicious! We had the chicken & curry for our mains. Derek was so kind and informative when he greeted us and showed us to our table. He asked if we wanted any other drinks and if our food was nice. All of the food was lovely! This was our first time at this restaurant & we will definitely be back and will tell our friends and family. Cass was also so kind and helpful. Dined on 1-11-2023 at 4:30pm.
The cocktails are very good, nice and boozy. The food is very tasty. We had a variety of meats and fish and every dish was delicious

Had a fantastic Sunday lunch yesterday. Can't fault our server Kaz, friendly and helpful. I had the Roast Turkey (£17.95) had plenty of meat, roast potatoes were delicious, roasted carrot and parsnip. My partner had the Trio of meats (£21.50) Turkey, Beef and Pork belly. All cooked to perfection. Side of Cauliflower Cheese (£3.95) was lovely. Pints weren't too bad either. Stylish and comfortable inside. All round great visit. Oh if you download the APP too you get a great discount on your first visit!! Only downside was the roadworks that had made the place fairly quiet. We walked from Poulton so didn't bother us. Would definitely recommend. Will be visiting again.
Our service from Caz/Kaz was incredible, she was very accommodating with our large group. She happily dealt with every request without complaint and made us feel very welcome, advised us on the best offers and made us want to come back again soon. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Absolute gem this place. Real shame it’s not busy due to Road works around the areas but the food and service is phenomenal regardless. Highly recommend the summer menu, scallops and prawn cheese starter and the Sunday Roast trio was delicious! Thanks to Dereck and Kim for their service with a smile and making us feel welcome. They also really looked after our son who has a dairy allergy, nothing was a problem at all, really helpful. We will definitely be returning here.
Went here for my birthday. It's a really nice place to visit for food & drink. There was an open fire, which is not often seen these days. The layout & decor work really well & it's a well maintained & clean pub (including the toilets).
The cocktails we ordered were well made & it appeared that the staff had almost as much fun making them as we did drinking them. The acid test for whether food was going to be any good was ordering the calamari for starters. It was absolutely delicious & succulent. The main courses were also very tasty. We didn't have to wait long but the pub was very quiet. I've been here before but not when it's been busy so can't comment on service during busy periods.
The staff were excellent & these days that counts for a lot. Derek (& especially Leah) deserve pay rises. I'll definitely go back.
There's a customer access ramp for folks with mobility issues. The pub is quite difficult to get to (as at November 2022) due to major roadworks that are ongoing.
Impromptu meal out last night with my husband; excellent food and friendly service.
We both had Leek and potato soup with a chunk of sourdough bread to start then ham hock pie which was superb. Dessert for me was sticky toffee pudding, my husband had the chocolate brownie, I had a couple of glasses of Merlot, my husband had a couple of beers and we ended our meal with coffee.

First visit. Absolutely brilliant, staff really lovely, served by Gemma and Kim, very tentative. We had the Sticky Platter to start and then a turkey dinner and a Sunday trio and it was outstanding, best Sunday dinner from a rub/restaurant 10/10

I recently visited The River Wyre Pub and I have to say it was a fantastic experience! The first thing that caught my attention was their hot chocolate, which was absolutely delicious and rich, and definitely one of the best I've ever had. It was the perfect drink for a chilly day and really warmed me up.
But the real star of the show was the sticky toffee pudding. I've had my fair share of this classic dessert, but The River Wyre Pub's version was out of this world. The pudding was perfectly moist and the toffee sauce was so decadent and sweet without being too overwhelming. I could have eaten two more servings of it!
Apart from the amazing food and drink, the pub itself had a really cozy and inviting atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, and overall the service was excellent. Especially Amber who made the best hot chocolate and the manager Alana.
I would highly recommend The River Wyre Pub to anyone looking for a great dining experience. Between the incredible hot chocolate, the mouth-watering sticky toffee pudding, and the welcoming ambiance, it's hard to give this place anything other than a perfect 5 out of 5 stars.
Kaz was brilliant - catered for our diverse needs and the food was its usual excellent standard . I’ll be back soon!

What a difference 2 yrs makes.
I reviewed this place 2yrs ago and only rated it two stars. I only gave it two on that review because of the staff who were friendly and helpful. Other than that the food was burnt and the decor dismal.
After today's visit I deleted that review as I didn't feel it did them any justice.
Went back to try the brunch and what a transformation. They have undergone a huge refurbishment and they have done a fantastic job of it. It's now airy and light with now dingy extractor fans in sight.
Huge improvement on the food too I had the small cooked breakfast with mushrooms and beetroot hash browns added as extras .. and I can't pick fault with any of it .. food was served hot and tasted great.
Hubby to be was feeling hungry so had the eggs royal and smashed avocado on sourdough toast with poached egg .. he didn't have a bad word to say about his food either.
And the staff were as friendly and helpful as ever, glad we gave the place a second chance, loved it. We will be back
Had a lovely meal with family at the River Wyre. The food was beautiful and freshly cooked. To make the experience even better the staff were so pleasant and made us feel welcome. Jemma was super accommodating. Will definitely be back!

If you're looking for a place to enjoy some great food and a warm atmosphere, The River Wyre Pub is a must-visit. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by Alana and her welcoming team, who made me feel right at home. And the food? Well, let's just say that it was some of the best I've had in a while.
I had the pleasure of trying several dishes, including the Steak Pie, Signature Burger, Forestiere Chicken Breast, Pâté, and Slow-Cooked Pork Belly. And I can honestly say that they were all fantastic. The Steak Pie was packed with tender chunks of beef and a rich gravy that was simply delicious. The Signature Burger was juicy and flavorful, with a perfectly cooked patty and all the toppings you could ask for. The Forestiere Chicken Breast was another standout, with tender, succulent chicken and a creamy mushroom sauce that was out of this world. The Pâté was a great starter, with a smooth texture and an earthy flavor that was both delicate and satisfying. And finally, the Slow-Cooked Pork Belly was a real treat, with melt-in-your-mouth meat and a tangy glaze that brought out all the flavors of the dish.
Overall, I couldn't recommend The River Wyre Pub enough. Alana and her team were friendly, attentive, and made me feel like a valued guest. And the food? Well, let's just say that I would happily order any of those dishes again. So if you're in the area and looking for a great pub experience, be sure to stop by The River Wyre Pub – you won't be disappointed.

We visited on Bank Holiday Monday, and we were pleasantly surprised thar we could get a table.
We were greeted by a nice young man, who was really welcoming and friendly.
The food was fantastic, a little more expensive than a standard pub meal but worth every penny.
The waiting staff were attentive but not intrusive and the food arrived in good time.
I would highly recommend visiting, this was a superb meal in a lovely pub. 👍👍👍
