Brilliant Italian pizza. If you like Domino's then this is not the place for you. It is SO much better than fast food pizzerias. The pizza is freshly cooked. If the chef is not satisfied with the quality he will remake the pizza!

The pizzas from this place are some of the best I've ever had. Delicious authentic bases and toppings in a wood fired pizza oven. The staff Paul and Fortunato are extremely hardworking, kind and knowledgeable. Without a doubt THE BEST place for authentic and tasty Italian pizza in Portsmouth. Would definitely recommend!
The name says it all! I moved to the Portsmouth area about a year and a half ago and I have been looking for a great pizza place. This is it! If you want a great Neapolitan pizza make this your first stop! The food is amazing and the staff were friendly and genuine. Definitely going back!
Hearty, real pizza. Just the right size as well. They also do a loyalty card and Navy discount. Definitely better than wasting your time with Dominoes, Pizza Hut or whoever else. They just need to add some curtains to their windows and de-clutter some furniture.
Authentic no frills pizza. Amazing service, value for money. Will definitely come again! Chef is brilliant!

Decided to pop in to try the pizza here as noticed this place on my daily commute.
There’s no sign outside so you wouldn’t really know it was there! It’s truly a hidden gem!
I went in with my daughter this evening, we were greeted by Paul and Fortunato, Paul explained the entire menu and ingredients used, they were very proud of how fresh the ingredients are! Fortunato gave us a sample of their mozzarella! I’ve never tasted a mozzarella like it before! It was so milky and cheesy! Delicious!
We were sold on the Buffalo Margherita which has a Tomato base, Buffalo Mozzarella and fresh Basil! and the San Daniele which was topped with Sun dried tomato, prosciutto, Fior de latte, Parmesan and rocket!
They use a traditional style pizza oven which adds to the authentic taste and style of the pizzas!
Once we got home; we tore into the pizza box and tasted the food, the pizzas were very delicious! The house favourite was the Buffalo Margherita! Cooked perfectly and very tasty despite its simple appearance!
I definitely recommend people try this place! It’s one to look out for!
Fortunato (pizza chef) is very friendly and his pizza one of the best I never had in the Uk and trust me I know it because I’m Italian. 100% Recommendable
Wow so I just had the best pizza ever I think. Just like another review which I saw, it’s a wood fired style of pizza and I cannot express how happy I am that there is finally a REAL Italien pizza place which delivers to my area. All of the ingredients and the dough are just so fresh and high quality which means that they are incredibly delicious. I could tell from the fist bite how authentic and well cooked the pizza was.
Yeah I don’t know what else is there to say I am just super super impressed and I will definitely be coming back soon! Thank you and your pizza but truly live up to your name of being the GOAT.
This is simply THE BEST pizza in Portsmouth! Wood fire oven, superb dough and flavours…finally the pizza every Italian was waiting for in this town! Thank you Fortunato for treating us to the most incredible dinner. We will certainly be back soon!
What a find. It is refreshing to know that in an age of bland chains and faceless corporate restaurants that such places as this exist. It is undoubtedly one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. It is about as authentic as one could hope for, the staff were amazingly friendly. If you love tasty pizzas and individual restaurants with character, then get yourselves down to The Goat.
WOW just had a Misto Di Salumi (meat feast) with out a doubt the best pizza I’ve ever had.
Really fresh ingredients & the fresh mozzarella was amazing. The chef “Paul “ I think ? He really knew his stuff, we hope to be back soon 🐐
Pizza + garlic bread w/ cheese was absolutely lovely. Both chefs were very friendly and service was faultless. Only feedback would be that the cheesy garlic bread could have done with a bit more cheese but other than that, all round excellent.
Freezing cold Sunday evening in Portsmouth in early March and we had ages to wait before our overnight ferry. No one would both feed us and let our well behaved dog sit with us except these guys who welcomed us in with open arms, made me a pizza without cow's cheese, gave the dog some sausage and if that wasn't enough, made us something for breakfast in the morning when we would get off our boat at 6am! Highly recommended. Really authentic napolitan pizza in a real woodfired oven which crackled with real logs. Fabulous! A little kindness goes a long way in our beleaguered world. And it tasted wonderful too.
A client asked me to host a murder mystery party at The Goat and the experience was superb all round. The staff made us really welcome and were helpful from the moment I arrived; thanks especially to Dianne and Paul for that. All of the staff were lovely and the food was excellent. Everything clean and well looked after. You can't go wrong. :-)
One of the best pizzas I've had in the UK, and I must say I have tried quite a few so called Italian pizza places, only a few actually live up to their name.
