Messy chef is an amazing local restaurant. It has a nice cosy atmosphere, attentive staff and delicious food. There is street parking available. All the food is halal. We got the messy hot dog, loaded beef nachos, and classic wings.
The portion sizes are extremely good.
As well as the messy burger and milkshakes.
The messy burger was my favourite. The smashed patties are cooked to perfection and it is well seasoned. Juicy burger.
Their shakes are really good too, good flavour and they don’t dilute the chocolate.
The staff were very good, food came out very fast. Food was delicious. Price was okay too. They off NHS discount 10%. They also have kombucha as a drink option.
Overall a great restaurant and I’ll definitely be back!

We happen to be staying in a hotel near by and found this restaurant on the way to the hotel! We were greeted and seated straight away. The food was amazing and not too pricey either. We had a little wait for our food but it was defiantly worth the wait!! Nathan was amazing, he was super friendly and we loved the way he was with all of the customers that came through as we were there. We will defiantly be returning on our next Portsmouth adventure
They just opened few days back and its totally my favourite place to have heavenly loaded fries. Their burgers are just the best i have ever had in Portsmouth! They are definitely one wonderful little foody gem. Great location, Kind & thoughtful customer service. Decent portion sizes & they obviously buy quality ingredients. Straight forward, good quality eating/meeting spot..perfect!
As always - really good. Top quality. Consistent with our last 10 visits for eat in and take-away. The best burgers I've ever had, but also, best messy fries too.
I had a fantastic experience with attentive service and delicious food at Messy Chef. If I find myself in Portsmouth again, I will definitely make a point to visit. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

I went with my son to dine-in at this new Burger place at Festing Road. Absolutely loved their selection they had for the kids on their menu. My son finished every bit of his Burger, surprisingly. Amazing selection of sides too. I will definitely be back. Keep up the good work, Guys!
Probably my favourite food place in Portsmouth.
Not only is absolutely everything delicious and reasonably priced, the staff here are really lovely, friendly people who care about their customers.
Dont miss out on giving this place a go, you will live to regret it if you do!
We were craving burgers and this was the first place we came across. My chicken burger was the best I have ever had, and my partner throughly enjoyed his beef one. We also had the beef topped nachos which were delicious. Lovely quirky establishment, and the owner was very friendly and chatty. Will definitely visit again the next time we are in Portsmouth.
Ordered online- delicious! Lost one star because they put my cold canned drink in the same bag as the food so the temperatures regulated each other and the can got covered in burger sauce… otherwise really nice. Pricey but a nice treat!
Been a couple of times now as part of trips with the kids to the coast.
Both times the food and service has been top notch.

This burger restaurant exceeded all my expectations! The burgers were juicy and flavorful, with a perfect combination of ingredients. We regularly have delivery and these guys are great. They have best tasting burgers around and chips so hot they burn your tongue.
What an absolute gem of a place. Booked in yesterday after reading the reviews and honestly it very much lived up to the hype. The two owners were the most loveliest of guys, humble, knowledgable and just so much passion for the food and the industry they are in! The wings are outrageously crispy and juicy and the burger was a proper get your hands messy type of dish. Just incredibly yummy. 100% worth the visit, will be returning as soon as we can!
