The Phoenix - Portsmouth - Photo album

My favourite place for a drink in Portsmouth. Down to earth feel about it, unique experience each time I go. I feel this is one of the last remaining pubs with a great atmosphere that doesn’t require slot machines or excessive amounts of sport screens. You feel greeted by the owners/staff and they t
This pub situated just off Albert Road in Southsea is a little gem. It doesn't do food but I did have a bowl of hot pork scratchings . The outside area is something else. Just an oasis of plants , lanterns and quirky artefacts. The little covered area is divine. Pub mirrors and Chesterfields and ol
Best pub in the city....original decor,a proper English pub, lots of history.
This is a great pub. Loads of interesting photos and artefacts to look at on the walls, especially posters from the theatre nearby. Friendly bar staff and locals. Lovely garden when the weather is good. Our favourite pub in Southsea.
Excellent pub with cask ales. Squeeze your way past the friendly locals at the bar and enjoy a drink in the fabulously quirky beer garden. Not on the main drag but worth going out of your way to get to it.
Lovely little pub, with a great atmosphere. Staff are always more than friendly, and the decor of the place is like nowhere else. Prices are very reasonable, and I would highly recommend this place.
Fabulous pub. Good choice of well kept cask ales. Friendly welcome & a great array of theatre memorabilia on the walks Photos, posters etc. No food but wonderful company. Be back soon.....
Local pub,bar split in pompey and navel, and Kings theatre land item, lots of photos of past and present stars. Beer garden and snug games room. Good staff team Can be stack at weekends
This place has got the perfect atmosphere. Even though I'm not much of a drinker, I swing by now and then since I live just around the corner. Let me tell you, it's always a good time. The folks there make me feel super welcome, and I've had a blast meeting new people and getting in on conversation
Simple pub drinks, nice staff and good atmosphere :)
A great little pub in Portsmouth. Great atmosphere and drinks. The staff there are lovely as well. I highly recommend it 😃
What a great British pub !! Lovers of fine ales, fabulous atmosphere, antique and vintage decor will love this place hidden away just behind the King’s Theatre ….and it is hosted by the most wonderful landlady Kathy who does enormous amounts locally for the community and charities….. look out for th
Well priced, friendly bar staff and a very nice garden to sit in that even has games. The only thing I dislike about this pub is the window that's looking straight from the garden in to the men's toilets.
Nice pub with an eclectic cliental. Very welcoming. Lots of board games. Good tunes on juke box. Lovely garden area and nice toilets!!
Great little pub just off the main strip, very kind and friendly staff and owner, lovely to chat with them and offer good recommendations for drinks. The perfect place to meet before or a place to go after a trip to the king's theatre. You may be lucky and bump into the actors/actresses after they
Really unusual beer garden , must have taken ages to get the look , The secret garden loved it It was a nice place , worth a visit
Brilliant little pub. Loved it. Great service and perfect for a quick drink after a show at the Kings theatre.
Smaller pubs tend to be much more friendly and The Phoenix is no exception, much more in keeping with pubs of the past, Kath the Landlord knows how to get the ingredients right for a decent pub. Recent refurb and plenty of work to allow seating in the garden and lounge bar has proven a good move. Al
Proper little pub this place, always aim to have a drink there when I'm in Portsmouth!
