Lovely 18th century pub. situated just across the road from the beautiful portsmouth cathedral. Serving good food menu choices as well as wine and beers. I can recommend the gammon steak it was delicious. Service was very efficient and friendly and also a great interior decor which made the visit more enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Very very good food. (I can vouch for the maple and bourbon wings!) Delicious and it was prepared quickly. Reasonable pricing for the oldest pub in Portsmouth. Great atmosphere all-round.

First, we came into there for the Portsmouth mystery adventure (highly recommend it, if you wanna learn about history and explore some of the city). After that, we ate a sharing platter! Recommended!

You cannot beat the Sunday Roast at The Dolphin! Firstly it’s huge, with loads of meat, veg, potatoes & gravy. The extra stuffing & pigs in blanket are well worth it & if you ask nicely, the lovely Tracy will organise some cranberry sauce, no matter the meat you choose. Highly recommended for Sunday roast lovers!!! 😁

There’s a lot of history in this building and apparently it’s haunted, The Dolphin is a very very historic pub, Its one of the oldest pubs in the country and has a rich history dating back to the 17th century, always worth going in here.
